Correct. But let's not make Texas something they aren't.

We better! Its going to get ugly fast if O goes down to Texas as he has done to Texas A&M and Florida. That would make three potential LSU HC who beat O. Not a good thing.

SN has TX #6 & the Tigers #7 in preseason rankings. A pretty big matchup early ienough in the season for both to recover from a loss. A win will really help the confidence of the winner moving forward. Hate to say it, but college football is better when TX is relevant.

Single handledly carried the Tiger flag during a 25 year exile in TX, so I have no love at all for the most obnoxious FB fans in America; TU & Cowboys.

Texas football is back

Get the frick out of here.

They got skull drug by Maryland. fricking Maryland. Lost to Oklahoma State. Lost a close one to WVU which I’ll excuse. Then lost the BIG12CG to ou. Beat an overrated Uga team.

How are they back?

All that said, I do like playing them in all major sports. They are a big brand name. It’s good. But I’d also like to play Oregon and USC more for the same reasons.

More big time home and homes like this helps reduce that corporate feel modern day cfb has. (Sorry Alleva) wish there were even more matchups like this.

I like when LSU plays schools like Texas, UCLA, USC, FSU, and Ohio State because they are big time athletic programs much like LSU. When you see names like LSU vs say USC or Texas, most people want to be tuned in just because those schools have so much history.

I agree. But that doesn’t mean Texas is back like they're claiming to be.

Don’t see the hype surrounding Texas next year. They have a gamer at qb but they lose almost their entire defense which carried them this season. Also their best wr declared. They have been awful since 2009 - much worse than the down stretch for LSU. Reading surlyhorns you would think they’ve won the last 3 national titles. They’ll be a decent top 20 team but probably not much more with what they just lost.

Herman & Fisher: Orgeron said their hires did not affect him and he had no comment..things have changed. Alleva never did a Coaching search and he promised an Offensive Mastermind and where are the 2 he did not interview - On the schedule next year. Fisher applied for the job at LSU 3 times. 2005, 2015-16. Now he is teamed up with LSU's Scott Woodward who worked with him here along with Saban and Emmert. Emmert took Woodward to Wash as his AD. These guys are great Coaches and they have talent and massive money behind their programs which are very well organized.

Look at Ehlinger's and Mond's stats (also Franks at FLA):

These 3 Coaches are great QB and Offensive gurus. Herman knows how to win Big Openers. I believe he is over 90% as an underdog but not saying he is the underdog here.

Fisher came within 2 pts of beating Clemson and had 100 more yds, Mond had 400+ passing. He also gave ALA their closest game in the SECW.

And Mond's:
