Good stuff as always.

According to Camp's bracket...which is on the bracket matrix website...LSU could fall out with a loss.

Drizz, I'm kind of a big deal now that I'm officially on Bracket Matrix. I can't wait to quote myself in an argument with bnfiii. According to him, anyone on there is credible. But of course if we win, we won't see him much around here.

If only Tim had K.H. shot and muscle and K.H. had Tim's heart against top teir opponents. But atleast theirs a solution- Tim play within himself and Keith play with a chip on his shoulder.

I prefer this. Team needs to take care of business tomorrow.

Great job Butt, it is appreciated.

LSU did a good job contesting jumpers from the guards, but did a terrible job keeping everyone out of the lane.

It's been too consistent a problem. The Kentucky game is the only game we really did it consistently well, which showed me we can do it...just need to come out focused with the resolve to do it for 40 minutes.

quote:

Tim Quarterman: Literally, what can I say about him that hasn't already been said? It's getting old and frankly, quite tiring.

I'm convinced it's an Alpha thing and even though Ben has conceded playmaker status to him for the most part it still drives Q and is IMHO the centerpiece to his inconsistent play. Like you, I don't know what to say and I fear it's past the point of resolution other than CJJ benching him, which is a risky proposition for a coach whose team is in the situation his is.

quote:

People give CJJ a lot of hate, some of it deserved, but no one can deny LSU normally bounces back well after a loss. I think tomorrow there will be 2 very hungry teams battling it out,

Agree on all points. I'm sure A&M is desperate after their recent swoon and we'll see max effort. But with Blakeney coming around so well this is a game we should and must take at home.

Absolutely. It puts Jones in a no-win situation. TQ is one of our most athletic players, but he also gets in our way. Problem is, we have Gray as a backup...he always gives 100% effort, but you don't know what you will get with him because of his decision-making. Tim is just very frustrating because we could be so great if he bought in.

Nice work.

watched the bloodbath of officiating

Sadly, this has become the rule rather than the exception for SEC BB. If it continues, I just can't watch anymore. Does anyone in the gumpland conference office care?

So who shows up tomorrow?

Could be said for the entire team. Why Hornsby tends to disappear is beyond me.

Ben tends to come out much more passive in big games

Not today IMO, but will it be enough?

I wont mind haaaaving the refs on our side for this game. Let A&M play against 8 and see how they do.

It really is a problem for LSU. We play, or at least try to play, an uptempo style but half the time refs won't allow us to play that way. The refs completely take away any and flow of the game. It benefits teams like South Carolina, Florida, Georgia etc. who try to grind out games.

I watched the first half of UCLA vs Arizona and they had 26 fouls combined (sounds familiar). A) Walton and his partner were criticizing the refs soooo much and B) the cops had to escort the refs off at halftime because the fans were so pissed. This has always been my issue...refs need to have more accountability. They don't give a shite if they call Craig for 3 terrible fouls that cost him 15 minutes of playing time.

Gray has had some good moments this year, but has struggled of late. You could always put Patterson in and put Ben at point.

Problem is you bench Q and he pouts and he might not give you his all when you do put him back in. He can elevate the team so much when he's good but it's gotten to the point where our well being hinges on whether the good Tim or the bad Tim shows up. I sure wish we could break that trend.

I would agree but 24 games in I don't think we will ever see it.

I just don't get what TQ is thinking. Andy Katz was talking the other day about TQ being selfish and a ball hog...does he think that all his antics are helping his NBA cause?

I think CJJ has really struggled with how to handle him. He told him early in the year to shoot less and facilitate more and that didn't quite work out so he then told him to go back to being more aggressive.

He's benched him, put him back in the line-up, given him the quick hook in a game or two. But the same issues continue.

He has not been able to define a clear role for him and get him to stick to it. As you, I fear 24 games in...short of benching him, which again is risky in and of itself...we may just have to live with him being the difference in us making the dance or not. That makes me a bit uncomfortable. All we can do if that's the case is hope for the best.

Yep. If TQ in warmups is laughing and having a good time, it'll be a good game. Otherwise he will be his normal who knows what self.

Or if TQ posts on IG before the game about playing for one of his dead homies. If that happens, we usually get Team Killer Tim. I just checked his IG, he hasn't posted since before the USCe game. That should mean good Tim today.

LSU is 13-1 when we out rebound the opponent. CDP says that is the key today.
