Why? Our 3rd best starter is matched up against our opponents best starter.

Worked out pretty well, didn't it?

You're Florida, you lose the series opener to the Sunday starter who's been anything but consistent this season, and O'Sullivan asks you to go out the next day and beat their ace? Then you get shut out in that game, and he asks you to try again against a guy who's just as dominant?

Pretty damn good situation to be in if you're LSU.

Glenn has had some rough outings, and he had that terrible 3rd inning, bases loaded. But good pitchers work their way out of jams, and he did just that. I think it gave him some confidence that he'll build on tomorrow.

Florida was red hot coming into that series, and our Sunday guy shut them down. I'm not saying he's our best pitcher, but Mainieri put him in a crucial spot, and he delivered.

True. It's definitely a gamble. We'll see if he can do it again tomorrow.

I think our offense will help out. Glenn has pitched well so I think we can count on him too.

If it was such a great idea, every team would match their worst starter up against the other team's ace.

It worked one weekend, and I'm thrilled. But in the long run, pitching our #3 starter against everyone else's ace will get us beat. But I know that Mainieri does not plan on starting Glenn in Game 1 of a Super Regional, so I'm not worried.

Exactly so it's not going to matter. I have no problem with Glenn starting first the next few weeks.

Oh yeah absolutely. I'm just saying (so far) it looks like a good thing for the rest of the regular season. Can't wait till tomorrow.
