Not possible.
The Independence Bowl has a contract and is now a bowl for SEC and Little 12 teams only, if i am not mistaken!
Big 12 no 7 vs SEC no 8
Can go Sun Belt if one isnt available according to collegefootballnews.com

For some reason I think ND would beat LSU.

So, I guess we'll wear these again.

ND is better than Troy, you never know what you will get from this 2008 squad.

Notre Dame heads to the Gator Bowl, you betcha!
Posted on 11/16/08 at 11:07 pm to brblues
That would suck because it would probably take LSU losing it's last games and because LSU would beat the hell of the Irish in what would be a shite game.

I remember being in Tiger Stadium in 1971 when LSU stopped Notre Dame four down in a row within inches of the south goal line and won 28-8.
It is always exciting to play Notre Dame, just like playing Nebraska--which would be another great Independence Bowl match with Pellini as the head coach.
It would be good for the N. La. fans to have the Tigers in town.
It would be good for Shreveport-Bossier City to have the many fans that would follow LSU.
It would be really good for the Independence Bowl for this year and its long term financial condition. Tickets would sell and people would fill the seats.

Hell no LSU is better then that.

I feel pathetic for ND. They should be in a bowl that they can win.
