If you are around Gulf Shores, AL, and see a guy decked out in LSU garb, and looks to be around 81 years old, be sure to talk to him. He wears LSU stuff everywhere but to church.

And who might he be??

I was also there at that game. They stopped that game with 15 seconds left to play! I felt short changed! They played Burks slamming into that Greenie over and over at the local bars for weeks! Sports Illustrated Grill? Freds?

one of the biggest fights in the stands I've ever seen was the next year at the Superdome.Everyone was concerned there would be a repeat ,but the players on both sides helped each other up,and all that good stuff.

But when LSU scored with under a minute left to go up 31-19,there was a fight in the Mezzanine endzone that must have had close to 50 LSU and Tulane fans.Ugly.

1982 and 1973 I think.............

I wish that was all. They beat us 24-13 in 1979, 48-7 in 1981 and of course, beat us when we were Orange Bowl bound in 1982. That was a brutal 4 year stretch from '79-82.

That is the last game that I left early. I got to my car and turned on my radio and the fight was on. I still cuss my friend that made me leave early for that one.

Losing to the Greenies 3 of 4 years--happened to be the 4 years I was an undergrad...in '79 Zachary's bar (out in TigerTown) served a batch of Kamikazes (green drink) for a "Drown your Sorrows" night after losing to Tulane. How we got home that night I'll never know, but my friend woke up the next day with his face on the floor stuck to caked on green vodka puke...

the powder was really added in 81 when Tulane called timeout near the end to kick a field goal.

They were already winning 45-7!!!

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure they ran a fake field goal for a TD when they were up 41-7. Which is actually worse than calling a time out to kick one.
