Our 2006 was as loaded of a roster as we’ve ever had from top to bottom. They were on fire the second half of the year and we would’ve been very difficult to stop.

This isn’t going to be perfectly comparable to the 12-team CFP era because we often mailed it in after our second loss.

You are correct, even if we win our bowl game by 21 we probably won’t end season in the top 10 at 9-4 but with all the cannibalization in the SEC this year we might be surprised how many other quality programs end up with 4 losses this year. With pity in his voice, Herbstreit declared we are “nothing but a mid-tier SEC program right now” in the 2nd half of the Bama game. Top-15 would be a LOT better than unranked - go win that bowl man!
