Some fans have been paying to tailgait for years....those in the RV lots and on South Stadium Drive. Maybe others, too. I'm not sure.
RV's are paying a fee to park their RV.

they'll just tailgate where its free

but to also help plug holes left by budget cuts.

I'm predicting a group in that situation will eventually figure out they can meet somewhere else, leave a car or two parked in a remote location and carpool to the campus. That would sure help the after game traffic if enough fans would do that.
Except this group has people who simply come out there for a few hours to enjoy the company, some who leave right after the game, and others who stay out there for hours past.
All its going to do is move the congestion to the East side of highland, which has even less outlets for exits.

Yea, they are using this as a cop out to make more money. This idea has been mulled around for a few years now and its finally been approved.
It should be $10 and $20 and a flat annual trailer fee of $75 a season.

It's not just to cover costs, but to also help plug holes left by budget cuts.

It also hasn't been made clear if a trailer will be allowed to park in a parking spot with that $50 fee. Or will they have to buy a parking pass too?

They don't pay to tailgate, they pay to park their 50foot RVs.
I suppose my question to you is .. is there ever a stopping point?
Apparently my taf donations, season tix, and every other dollar I spend in Br/LSU for a saturday football game isnt enough...lets thorw in another 90 bucks a game just to fricking be there
... actually its not funny its pathetic.
Honestly for me I enjoy watching the game under my tent at our tailgate.... so the "need" for me to be in TS isnt there anymore anyways... Watching on tv and playing golf on saturdays is starting to seem like a much more realistic option.
make a couple big games a year but thats enough.

Why?
Budget cuts don't exist in the athletic department in their minds.

LSU Athletics isn't broke or anywhere near it.
They are using the "budget cuts" as a way to make more money.

Great. Then don't tailgate.
Music isn't the issue. LSU trying to make more money is here.

You're really agreeing that my in-laws who come out there for 2 or 3 hours from noon-3pm for a 6pm game should have to pay $40?
Posted on 11/16/10 at 6:48 pm to Golfer
yeah im not paying $250 next season just to park my utility trailer and then $80 a game for two vehicles.
