The revenue generated from the new charges will allow LSU to make more restroom facilities available to those areas and help with rising clean-up costs due to heavy tailgating activities in those areas

I call BS on this. When we had to start paying Tradition fund, we were told that facilities would be upgraded, improvement in the bathrooms, concessions, etc. The bathrooms and concessions on the west side look just like they have for the paste 50 years that I've been attending.

My wife does this sometimes, she'll come out with our daughter and hang out at the tailgate and then go home. Is it really worth her taking up a parking spot on campus?

Also, those people are still buying LSU jerseys, shirts, etc. They bring food and beer to the tailgate. They'll probably just stay home now. Less money to the baton rouge economy

But where are you and the majority of your group travelling from? What kind of supplies are you buying in BR?

100% of my stuff is bought in BR.

I'd estimate our group has spent about $3000-$4000 this year in tailgate stuff (food, drink, etc.)

Ours is just a group of 50-60. There are hundreds of our groups across campus.

And when you start cutting back on games because your daughter wants to stay at home and watch the game with you...

Those who come out just to tailgate are doing so to hang out with their friends. When said friends aren't making their way out there anymore, they are less likely to join in on the fun too.

If it is really that much fun, won't they just park a few hundred yards away from your tailgate and walk?

How many of those free spots are going to now be available at 10am?

Mostly all live in Baton Rouge but 20 or so come from New Orleans (LSU alums) just to tailgate and watch the game on TV at the tailgate.

I buy all my food and kegs and other related items in BR. My minimum keg order per game is 6 kegs. The most is 12. The crazy amount of food/chips/soft drinks to feed such a group comes from SAMS, albertsons, winn dixie.

This is just one medium size tailgate. There are hundreds in the same boat. Most if not all will be downsized now.

That really isn't relevant to the discussion.

It most certainly is.

So now you're:

- Not tailgating as much
- Releasing your season tickets

You get the idea.

An atmosphere which thousands of people, like myself, have enjoyed is now going to be less than 92,600 people.

GOod call. Minnesota and Michigan St are both known for their tailgating atmosphere. GTFO with that dumb shite.

Been to games at both places. They both tailgate pretty well. The new stadium for Minnesota allows tailgating on campus and on lots and at the shuttle lots and Michigan State has tailgating all over campus and at the shuttle lots. You do know that other places tailgate and have good scenes. Been to games at Notre Dame and Michigan as well and Northwestern they do tailgate at those places and people pay for lots to tailgate.

I'm assuming these people like to hang out, party, and watch the game since they are coming to your tailgate for those reasons. If they decide not to go to your tailgate, are they going to just stay home and not spend money? Or will they get together somewhere else in the area for a party, at a bar, etc?

And people do here too.

And there isn't much tailgating you can do for an 11am game.

If money is tight I suggest firing the person or persons who made this decision.

This isn't about the Baton Rouge economy it's about the LSU economy. I went to games when I was at LSU and we would tailgate at friends places and walk to the games. Now those folks who show up to party and don't go to gamnes should pay for parking and the extra traffic mess they cause. LSU isn't a Mardi Gras parade.

You don't know shite about me so you aren't going to speak for me.

If it comes to my daughter, the decision to go or not to go isn't going to be based on $40 for parking.
