re: LSU T&F in Eugene for Nationals

Who would you go after? LSU has made it extremely clear that they are only willing to do the bare minimum across several sports, mainly T&F. Shaver has done pretty well with the resources given. Coach Ards has been a massive success as his most recent assistant hire. Todd and Bennie continually making champions across the events they coach.
LSU told T&F that they would be getting a new facility for both indoor/outdoor, the track was redone so that they could live off it a few more years, then the rug was pulled and the deal was over. If you want to talk about "pure mediocrity" ask why all of the other top programs in the country actually give a damn about their non-revenue sports.

That’s always been my defense of Dennis Shaver. If we had A&M or Arkansas facilities then I’d hold Shaver more accountable. But given our investment in the sport we do we well as we possibly can.
I also think LSU’s traditional model of success is so much more challenging to win it all. There is a lot more parity in the short sprints, where we used to dominate. Take Georgia for example with their old multis coach. They’d never do much at SEC’s but were a nightmare at nationals because they had jumpers and throwers that were elite at a few events and could win it all with a skeleton roster

Auburn coach gets elite international talent with shite facilities

That was not a bad performance at all. Auburn is not chopped liver and LSU also bested the favorite - UH

If it not for Boo, his arse would have zero titles. It is simple, he can’t win one so get someone younger for less. And that’s bull shite about resources.

Spoken like a ex track athlete or relative. He has had a shite load of talent and it never works out. That’s the problem. This season might end the same way in the same spot.
Just not quite there.

Huge disappointment for Squirrel. Looks like he put on 20 lbs. from when he won the NC as a freshman and sophomore. 2x National Champion, running out of lane 4, and finished in 8th place laboring across the finish line. Doesn’t even look like the same kid from 3 yrs ago

Yeah squirrel doesn’t seem to give a shite
Godson and the 4x100 are way more sad. Idk I understand not firing shaver but this sucks. And this has happened many times with him

I’ve actually said the same thing (like you’ve noticed) regarding Boo elevating lsu track. We are back to shite now that he left.

Holloway absolutely has dominated and I’m fricking sick of this shite. Women (UF) will win again.
Shaver needs to get his fat lazy arse out

You know…when you look at Florida’s facilities theirs are garbage too
I wonder if Arkansas offers Holloway if they have the balls to fire the men’s coach. Holloway is an old hog assistant.

Crazy the auburn men got second…old Houston coach has auburn on the move and they are young
Posted on 6/7/24 at 10:59 pm to tigerbait2010
They came into the meet 13th in the USTFCCA standings. They had a phenomenal meet. Pulled an antiUSC in terms of showing up when it matters.
Speaking of which what an all time choke job from them

The Houston coach has a good resume. I wonder if Woodward goes after him tbh when shaver retires.
Was interesting the excellent Georgia coach I referenced quit collegiate coaching, Georgia hired the female USC coach, and now now sure who the Trojans have…but interesting moves hehe

I don’t know anything about the situation with the Georgia guy but having lived in that world collegiate track and field coaching is a fricking grind (and I was an NAIA assistant couldn’t imagine being a D1 head). Definitely not for everyone.

I just googled Petros Kyrprianou and he’s at Illinois?
Dude must have had an affair because Georgia was nasty for a few years at nationals. In fact he has Illinois of all schools winning. He’d wreck at LSU
