Brooks is seeded 5th in 100 freestyle final tonight on NBCSN 7pm
Top 6 should make the Olympic team for 4c100 free relay.
If he gets 4th or better he is on the team. 5th/6th should still make the team but won’t know till near end of the meet.

Atlanta is where he is from
Was a fast high school swimmer 20.6 50 free but now is 19.3 in 50
100 free 44.5 100 free to now 41low and 200 free 1:38dropped to 1:32. These times are yards times.
He has gone from fast to world class.

The veteran 32 year old Olympian Nathan Adrian surprisingly finished 13th in the Semis and did not make the final. That is one less experienced guy that Curry has to beat.

Those are great times! I don't know what the higher seeds' times are, but I'll be watching tonight and pulling for him to swim a new personal best in route to a top 4 finish.

Has an LSU swimmer ever made the Olympic team? I don't think Ricky Meador did, and he was an All American, wasn't he?

Good luck to Brooks Curry and Geaux Tigers!

Many have competed in olympics but I think all for other countries
Todd Torres
Mark Andrews
Sion bren
Blanca Morales
I will have to look up rest.
Many of these went to multiple Olympic

Brooks could be first on US team
Many swimmers swam for USA at Pan PAC or world university games but will have to check olympics

Swimming TV schedule for those who are interested. Should be a very competitive swim between Caleb Dressel and Zack Apple IMO, Brooks will have to swim a sub 48.25 to finish in the top 4.

Yeah. Dressel, Apple, and Ryan Held will obviously be tough to beat.

Curry will be in lane 2 right next to Pieroni in lane 3 who he will probably have to beat to get in the top 4.

I've known Brooks since he was around 9 years old. Fantastic young man with great parents as well.

Brooks went 48.31 I think in prelims. Needs that or better to top 4. If he gets to go as 5/6 relay alternate still on the team and an Olympian.

48.19

Dressel just said "I have to get to know this guy here. We've got a newbie on the team". And then gave him a hug.

Outside of not a great turn, Brooks just had an absolutely GREAT race. Better turn to hold that speed and it could have been 47.99. That swim right there just earned himself an Olympic medal.
