So you are pissed because some people don't care about the same things you care about? That's rational. It's also pretty fricking hypocritical since you don't give a shite about anything but the big 3.

I was turning the guy's statement around on him. he was bitching about being bothered by people saying student support sucks for games. if the students don't want to go then fine. they are just bandwagon anyways so it isn't surprising.

You people talk about "the students" as if we are one huge mass that all make decisions together. It is not like 30,000 people are getting together and deciding not to go to the games. Everyone is making their own personal decisions which they are entitled to make on their own. The only sport at this school that students pay money to attend are football games. Therefore, that is the only sport that people should be pissed about students not showing up.

If you want to complain about something, complain about the athletic department allotting any tickets at all to the students for basketball games. Petition for general admission for everyone. The students who go will still go I guarantee you.

the student section encompasses like 3,000 seats. Maybe 150 were at the first game

Could it be that basketball is not a high interest? The ONLY time I watch basketball is when LSU plays. And most times it's on TV. It's just simply not as big as football and baseball.

what everyone is trying to tell you is that it WAS big. we just wish the students would go out and support the team and create a fun atmosphere

Wasn't the product on the court vastly superior to recent itinerations of LSU basketball? Correct me if I'm wrong. If Chris Johnson, S Swift, Shaq, Pistol Pete, or even Glen Davis were playing, maybe basketball would pique student interest.

I didn't realize Chris Johnson was such a huge draw

isnt the team pathetic?

That typically doesn't matter at most schools. The players themselves being students usually matters at most schools. When Brown was struggling to re-build in the post-Maravich era, the student section began representing long before the glory days started in '78. Hard to explain today's apathy in Baton Rouge.

The only reason I didn't go to the games was because I went home for Christmas and I didn't have a ride back to LSU to catch the games. Now that I'm back on campus I'll should make at least 95% of the rest of the home games.

I've been trying. They always come up with some excuse not to go.

eh, just go down there. they look weird but they are mostly nice i bet. they all showed up to rotolos yesterday to watch the game. i guess thats their gathering spot for away games. i had no clue but the kid andy who I guess is their coordinator is pretty cool and normal.

besides the you, you, you chant after fouls (which most schools do) they don't really do anything else. it'd be nice if they got some people up front to start some stuff.

I said the kid that coordinates their stuff. maybe you should go to reading comprehension 1001 instead of the games.
