It's a pretty good indicator of the quality of your S&C program. There is a reason why the NFL teams want to see it at the combine.

So is that why LSU Is one of the top 3-4 NFL producing colleges?? GTFO with that nonsense

Uh maybe because the athletes at LSU are just superior genetically? I think that is pretty much the case.

interesting you choose to use genetics as the reason LSU overcomes Moffitt's shitty coaching.
then you point out Chad Jones' bench rep number, when not only as people mentioned he didn't even work out with the football team for half the off season, but also a guy who showed up at LSU as a freshman at 200+ pounds but couldn't bench 225 one time. a guy who was always a genetically gifted athlete with below average upper body strength.

how many other college football S&C programs have you been around to know what Moffit does is not working?
Posted on 7/17/11 at 12:33 pm to Lester Earl
So LSU gets the most genetically gifted athletes every year? They come to LSU and get shitty training but some how every year rep us well in the draft... Great logic especially someone like laron Landry who came in as a QB and is now a workout warrior from what he learned from college

Do you notice how every single year our players underperform at the combine. This isn't isolated incidences it is pretty much year after year.

I'd say the combine accounts for about 5% of a reason a player gets drafted where he does. Moffit wadnt hired to create workout warriors, he was hired to create football players.

it is shocking that some idiots do not realize this

That goes hand in hand. Look at Trent Richardson or hell Laron Landry.

Did he under perform at the combine?

you realize Laron Landry was a skinny 180lbs when he got to LSU?
who gets credit for putting weight on him?
shite that is right when you 'worked' with Moffit. You should know all about that

The bench press is a combine joke. Let's take a look at top performers in the bench press relative to their draft position..
1) Stephen Paea (49 reps, drafted late 2nd round)
2) M. Austin (38 reps, drafted late 2nd round)
3) B. Miller (35 reps, 7th round)
4) R. Bartholomew (34 reps, undrafted)
5) A. Taylor (34 reps, undrafted)
6) J. Watt (34 reps, 1st round)
7) M. Cannon (33 reps, 5th round
8) C. Hairston (33 reps, 4th round)
9) Z. Taylor (33 reps, undrafted)
10) R. Homan (32 reps, 6th round)
I think this discussion is over..
1st round - 1
2nd round - 2
4th round - 1
5th round - 1
6th round - 1
7th round - 1
undrafted - 3

I do know all about it actually. Laron was a freak genetically. Moffitts program held him back. Look at what he is built like now even worlds different from when he was at LSU.
