LSU Softball Program

With the addition of OK and Texas to the SEC if changes aren’t made to the softball program LSU will fall even more to the bottom of the league.

OK is going to make every program go down a notch but yes adding those two will make things even more challenging. The current model isn't gonna work, changes are needed. We have gotten worse the last 4 years and had our worst post season showing in over 15 years.
I'm not gonna rag on individual players but it starts with the coaches.

I’m not bashing any players or coaches, young or not you still need to win championship and that’s not happening.

I saw that Beth mentioned their inability to overcome distractions all year. Might she be referencing the kook behind the back stop as one of them? And I would like to know if this distraction will be dealt with before next year?

For some reason LSU fans make excuses for coaches that haven’t won titles but they can’t run title winning coaches out of town fast enough. It doesn’t really make any sense

I saw that and I do not understand at all. "Distractions" isn't a feasible excuse for going 0-2 in regionals and what we saw all year. If its a player on the roster, its still their fault anyways, they recruited them.

Are we acting like those title winning coaches didn’t have any other issues associated with them, which ultimately led to them being let go?
Simply put, Softball didn’t meet expectations and there needs to be some accountability. I think Beth is a solid coach, but she has to turn things up immediately.

A couple of things... This is misleading due to COVID years, more than half the lineup has been here for 3-5 years. Three of the 4 major pitchers are have been here for at least 4 years. While they have young players they aren't that young.
It doesn't matter how young or old players are if they aren't developing or progressing from year to year.
LSU was the only SEC team that didn't win a single game in regionals.

This is a very dumb statement. Pawl and Miles should have been fired 3-5 years before we fired them. But they were giving the respect they deserved. O fired himself because he’s a 20 year old kid on steroids mentally. Miles let the game pass him by it was his own fault. Pawl won one title 12 years ago and played for one more. Not necessarily LSU baseball standards.

Beth should be forced to fire her friends and hire real coaches. She should be made to choose between her high salary and playing mother and get refocused on her job. If she wants to be mommy which is understandable move to destin and coach high school ball. If these actions can’t be done she deserves to be fired. The program has gone backwards for years
