Robert Smith embodies why ESPN's coverage of NFL is so far superior to college football that it makes it tough to watch any "analysis" about college football. They make college football a total publicity scam with a bunch of partisan hacks throwing out outlandish bullshite to get a rise out of a small segment of the country. Pathetic.

the problem is that LSU had accomplished the most after week 1. Should have jumped them then. And, beating Oregon and Miss State is much more impressive than beating FSU. It'll be even more impressive when we've beaten Oregon, State, and WVU, all away from home.

SO how does that explain him thinking OU is deserving of #1? Why not LSU, Bama?

I want to hear his logic comparing the 3. On second thought I probably dont.

FSU is not a bad team, and will be a reckoning force in the years to come.. but OU beat a badly injured FSU, if I heard correctly every single starting receiver was out of that game... specifically after the double crunch hit that knocked out that one guy...

So personally.. I don't think OU accomplished anything by beating FSU...

I think people don't take Oregon as serious anymore with how they do when a physical team plays them and just destroys them in the trenches. The last 3 times they've played physical teams from other conferences they've been handled.

Regardless, LSU has a more impressive resume to date IMO

If ignorance were bliss, then Robert Smith would be in a constant state of euphoria. What a freakin' jackass.

This guy goes out of his way to discredit LSU every chance he gets. I don't know what he has against us but he's awful to listen to.

He does the same with Alabama. His halftime and post game commentary after their game with Penn St. was horrible.

They've recruited as well as anyone the last couple of years but they aren't close to being a reckoning based on what I saw from their quarterbacks.

How is shutting down Oregon, the BCS runner up from last year, NOT a statement win?

I don't know.. I really liked that red shirt freshman they threw in there.. a hell of a lot better than OU's QB.

The touchdown pass he threw looked like a high school kid out there. Still amazed that went for a touchdown. You don't have to have a gun to be good, but that guy didn't impress me. And the EJ Manuel hype certainly ended abruptly after they stopped playing garbage opponents.

Nahh, I think we're getting a lot of respect.

I just think robert smith absolutely has a disdain for LSU. They way he put it on TV almost had me laughing out loud.

This...I don't know if he truly has a disdain for LSU though, but LSU is getting respect almost everywhere else as far as I can tell.

I liked his attitude on the field. He just seemed so calm. I know one game isn't going to give his true potential.. but from what I saw that night.. 'to me' he out shined the OU QB.
