It’s logical

There is only one retired number.
20
20

I believe that LSU football has only ever retired #20

For all intents and purposes that is exactly what LSU has. They just stupidly continue to call it "retired jerseys".
4, 21, 37 are all still in circulation. As will 7 after Jones's jersey is "retired". The only number that is truly retired is 20.

I just think it's silly a former player is going public and threatening the school to remove them from their likeness over it.
Wild stuff.
Wild stuff.

Keep it that way.
Alabama did not retire Young, Smith, Henry, or Ingram's number
Oklahoma did not retire Murray, Mayfield, or Bradford
Oregon did not retire Mariota's number
I don't believe A&M retired Manziel's number, but they have retired one other Heisman winner.
This is the way. FSU stopped retiring numbers, I doubt Winston cares.

LSU hasn't retired any numbers for the last 25 years. But that doesn't mean Jay is going to let someone wear #3 this year. Nor should Kiffin let someone wear 9 or 5. The grace period needs to be more than a few years before someone else puts that jersey on.

* Under a provision of the LSU jersey retirement bylaws established Jan. 1, 2007, the retirement of an athlete’s jersey in a particular sport does not preclude a current student-athlete in that sport from wearing the jersey number in that or any other sport, subject to the discretion of the head coach. This provision applies only to jerseys retired after January 1, 2007. The numbers worn by Maravich, Pettit, O’Neal, Cannon and Bertman may never again be worn by future student-athletes in their respective sports.

There are far too many football players on a roster to retire numbers that often. Hence why LSU stopped doing it. This is completely stupid and a terrible look for JD5 and his camp.
