I guess they don't beleive in censorship.

You don't understand the concept of censorship (or you have bought into the media's warped definition). Censorship means denying the press (media) the right to print (broadcast, etc.)what they know--or even what they think they know or wish they knew. Not telling them what they want to know, or denying them access to the source of knowledge, is not censorship. They don't "have a right to know." They only have a right to publish what they are able to find out.

I'll give you that the Gannett might have a huge grudge against LSU if they pulled GG's credentials, but the Gannett is in it to make money.

So if GG couldn't cover LSU any longer, it wouldn't be long before he would be replaced. Of coures LSU might have hell to pay with biased reporting following that.

The biased reporting part would be, at best, a push relative to what is there now. And there's a very good chance that there would be an upgrade in professionalism.

Right! And, there should be a LAW that NO sportswriter can write an article that YOU don't agree with!! That's absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!!

Don't cry. It'll be alright.

BIG HUG!!!

A true statement most of the time, but false in this case. Guilbeau replaced by literally anyone in the world = greener.

Interesting point, but it doesn't address the contention made by the poster you're trying to disagree with. Try to see it like this: Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, not his own facts.

gg is no worse than 55% of the ranturds on this board. i don't believe he does any favors for lsu, miles or the players, but he tries to give the ranturd view to the rest of society that doesn't sit at a keyboard all day.

What? If what he does is professional journalism, there should be no likeness to the anonymous message board posts.

Well, think about it. It's an unending source of ideas, trash, gossip, innuendo and partial truths. He doesn't even have to think, he has us doing it for him.

GG almost has to be an embarrassment to sports journalist. I've said many times including here, is M.O. is to churn out glowing reviews followed by the slice & dice rumor and innuendo attacks. He has no core and values "shock value" over truth and honesty which is very typical of what Gannet papers have done nationwide as they've swallowed up smaller independents. The guy's a parasite and IMHO, the Spurrier model for handling "journalist" without morals was made for him.

What a jackass statement we are not talking about writing a sports article I or anyone else does not agree with, hell that goes on everyday.

We are talking character assassination with rumor and innuendo and damn lies being proliferated by someone with extensive resources to such terrible things.

Probably has Fox News on in the background 24/7.

Wow! You really are stupid!

He expresses the opinions you are whining about in sports articles. He is a sports writer. Good grief!!

i don't care if there is an article adverse to lsu. I truly don't. however, "reporting" rumors to get attention for your own self isn't what "journalism" is suppose to be.

It's what i majored in so maybe i'm a little criticle when it is poor.

Journalism is investigating and reporting facts as they are know.

You want to see a good "journalist" check out peter finney. He's hardly been a homer but he does report what he knows and backs it up.

I'm hearing miles has a lost discipline on his team isn't a fact. that is rumor.

others "may" have academic issues (when the semester isn't finished) isn't fact.

What about the irresponsible tweets that Guilbeau was sending to Miles during the beginning of the year???

You really do not comprehend when something is off the mark and this is way off the mark. He is not being a sports writer, he is being a muck racker. And you support his type of trash.

It would look mighty bad for LSU to shut out the reporter who has the most readership in the state (sorry, but he does) simply because they don't like what he writes. I don't think the biggest newspaper conglomerate in the world would take too kindly to that either.

That's assuming the paper wouldn't privately agree with LSU, at least to some degree. In which case it would just be easier to hire a new reporter if LSU yanked his credentials.

Hard to claim freedom of the press when you are often engaged in defamation.

So, you support "good" journalism, like that provided by Peter Finny. Think about that.

Rumors, reported as rumors, are perfectly legitimate.

What you are advocating is censorship. And, if you actually have some background in journalism, you should recognize that.
