and i think, now that i have had a chance to completely read the article, this is TAF realizing that things are starting to get a little iffy with the direction of the program and that it is time to encourage younger alums like yourself and new potential season ticket holders to get into the mix .. it is time to develop the next fan base for lsu football .. not continue to coddle the 85 year old blue bloods that leave at halftime with their 10 unused tickets in their pockets still talking about how good Y.A. Tittle was ..

If the new system is going to be put in place for new season ticket and parking request this year, TAF and LSU will have to reset the priorty point ranking based upon donations not associated with ticket and parking contributions. If you don't revise how can you determine who has more donations to the other programs and not just to the guy that has 12 tickets.
It sounds like this is going to be a clusterfrick. There apparently is going to be TWO different priority point lists and we'll have 2 different rankings. One priority point list (your current ranking) which is used for away game and bowl tickets and a SECOND list only made up of philanthropic donations. Will we ever get to see our ranking in the second list?

I'm for raising them as high as the market will bear! We win, they raise prices ... I hope we just keep winning!

If you think about it... this doesn't help joe blow giving 100$ a year any. All the big timers are giving 5k a year or more philanthropically to get the TAF bonus points anway. If they want new tickets they would still be first in line. I know you can only own 8 tickets per account per section (i.e. NEZ)... i would have to re-read to see if there are any new restrictions on getting more tickets.

It's still a good idea though to promote new blood some incentive to donate

LSU isn't going to take away any tickets from anyone that already has them and redistribute to people who don't.

Nor should they.

Jesus you people suck at reading comprehension. your current point number stays the same. From now on all tradition fund donations will not count to your priority points. That's all.

Negative. It is a blatant attempt to increase donations to LSU. Those "Whales" who "hoard tickets and leave at halftime" will not get credit for the tickets prices they now pay. If/when they want to acquire more tickets they will have to make a "donation" to LSU over and above the price of their current tickets.

It may be a first step in switching the whole ranking system.

I have accepted a long time ago that the day will come when I will probably be priced out of my season tickets.

Wow. This is probably the best thing since the collegiate club that taf has done to help the common fan and people are still bitching. Amazing.

you would hope not .. but sadly true ... 40 years ago, season tickets had NO competition ... maybe one game a year, if that, was on TV .. there was no ESPN .. nothing but ABC ... now .. with HD technology improving daily, coupled with the fact that virtually every game is on TV .. season tix have serious competition ... eventually the escalation will stop .. empty seats speak volumes .. ask curley hallman ..

it is convenient with march 31st fast approaching .. maybe they (TAF) are just sensing donations may fall off if they don't do something from a PR standpoint to give the little guy hope ..

What's new? It's been that way for years. The new policy just eliminates the required "contribution" to buy tickets from applying to granting priority points.

Not exactly. It looks like it sets up a two-tier Priority Points system.

With respect to bowl games and away game tickets, the current system will remain in place and you will get priority points for your Tradition Fund donations, i.e., NO CHANGES to the current system.

With respect to adding tickets (via waiting list), there will be a separate Priority Point system. Under this system, you will only get points to the extent that you donate money to the TAF (or other philanthropic giving) OUTSIDE of your Tradition Fund donation or your TAF "donation" for your seats.

the problem is they hang onto 8 tickets that they either give away or just don't use for every game and it cuts into the pool that could be available for new season ticket holders .. tiger stadium NEEDS new season ticket holders .. it needs new LIFE ..

I agree, let some real fans buy the tickets. We wont have as many threads about the place being empty everytime the going gets tough.
