I guess your correct. They could have e-mailed those people that got the rejection letter in July.

For their sake, I hope these tickets weren't from LSU.

Several people on the Gator board said the tickets were behind the Gator band. None of the visitor tickets are behind the band. Maybe UF is just covering their own arse so their fans won't think they held back seats.

I read once that the network televising the game had an opportunity to buy a block of tickets (I think I remember 100 or 250 tickets), maybe CBS didn't need any tickets?

Ok, very hard to believe that LSU would send back 1,000 tickets.

Here's a few random quotes from that thread regarding the tickets for sale...

quote:

I believe the lady said they were Section 22, 42. I think it's behind the UF band, probably under that over-hang.

quote:

Section 51 Seats 37-38 Row 63.

quote:

I know they are up in the south endzone.

Here's where our tickets are... LSU Tickets

I'm tempted to call bullshite here...

I talked to my friend in the ticket office (not going to revel identity SORRY!) - he said that they returned no tickets and he heard this rumor and he says that the tickets are not in LSU sections so he does not know why UF is saying that. I dont know what sections LSU is in so I have to take his word

To be fair, UF isn't really saying they were returned by LSU. Some guy on an internet message board is saying that. We all know how reliable that type of information is.

doubtful that those came from LSU unless the ticket office holds back tickets that they ended up not using. I put in for UF and didn't get 'em.

Hey, I'm they guy that made the original post on the GSMB.

Here's what I was told:

I called the ticket office on Monday asking if there were going to be any last minute tickets released. I was told "Yes, actually there are quite a bit of them, over a thousand. They go on sale Wed morning at 8:30 am." I asked if the were tickets that LSU returned. "Yes."

This morning I called and got 6 tickets. I was asked if I wanted them in the North endzone, lower level OR the SE corner. She told me that those were in the LSU section. I picked the North Endzone.

Now, I have a hard time believing that LSU returned tickets. I'm not sure what is going on here. I doubt the girl was lying. Maybe she was just misinformed. The Tickets I got are not visitor tix. Could be CBS tix like some suggested. Who knows?

Also, I see that we charge you $45 per ticket. I'm glad we are not A holes and jack up the price for visitors. UT charges us $90 face value!

i'm sure florida's ticket office is no different than lsu's. Typically when you call you're talking to a student worker that doesn't know shite.

There have been multiple times that I've called with a random question and gotten a response that I questioned in my mind ... I typically call back to see if I can get a different person so that I can ask the question again to see if I can get the same answer and confirm what I was told by the first person. I can't tell you the number of times that I've gotten a completely different answer on the second call (and sometimes third call) from a different student worker at the ticket office.

All that said, there's no way LSU returned tickets for this game. Herb Vincent, the Associate AD, confirmed that tickets were not sent back to Florida.
