not surprising. those lawyers assume (correctly, more often than not) that they could get a sweet settlement by taking the case even though it is wildly unlikely that the case is winnable.
when you enter a stadium or event, you implicitly agree to allow your image or likeness to be used by the event organizers in whatever way they choose. if you don't like that, don't ever go to another game, concert, or event anywhere ever again.

people are still bitching about this?

LSU spends money to airbrush out crosses on fans, but we have a Tiger mascot from a Confederate regimen.
Maybe we should go from a Tiger to a housecat. Lord, I hate political correctness. Can we still say God in Tiger Stadium or is that banned?

The Constitution does not allow endorsement of a particular faith. It does not mean that a particular faith should be discouraged either. People tend to incorrectly assume religion is prohibited when it is not. We as a country are headed down a slippery slope when we get so PC that we are afraid to offend anyone. I guess the beliefs of a few non-believers are more important than others. If you find a small cross offensive, I hope some day you do not realize the error of your ways. LSU should have not used the image if they did not want to show the cross. Shame on on this gutless bunch of so-called leaders.

I don't care either way to be honest. A cross on your shoulder ain't making a lick of difference as a witness at a football game.

I think is i funny the people bitching about freedom of speech. They figs that painted up exercised their freedom by doing that. Then so did LSU but saying they dont want it in the photo when they printed it.
These homos need to get over themselves.

By manipulating the image, LSU pushed the envelope because by all the legal contracts I've seen, they are not allowed to do so without permission of the person.
i'm no professional photographer, but a friend of mine is and he has told me in the past that there are different usage restrictions for photos involving one or more people. again, i'm not an expert and maybe my numbers are a bit off, but i believe that any photo containing more than 7 people is considered a crowd shot and does not require individual releases to be signed by the photographees, under louisiana law.

No apparently the beliefs of a few believers are more important right?
Seriously you need to learn that lack of endorsement does not equal discouragement. By removing the cross they did not give the appearance of endorsing Christianity. That in no way whatsoever discourages anyone from practicing Christianity or Islam or Wicca or worshiping Zeus for that matter.
This country is far from PC. In fact the PC thing now is to be non-PC. Similar to how being a normal person is now the new rebel.

Great line there. Too many people are geting their panties in a wad because of a perceived slight that just doesn't exist.

I am simply saying if you do not want to show the people as they are, do not show them. Photo shopping a picture is wrong. I do not care if they have a cross or not, that is their right to do so. LSU does not have the right to decide for them. That is what is wrong. LSU used poor judgement, opinions will not change this. Someone should be terminated.

I'm not a religious person at all, but LSU lost a bit of respect there. What the frick is the point of censoring the students? Who bitched and moaned enough to get them to change the photo?
If you don't like the cross, then don't use the photo. Are people really that scared of a 2" cross painted on someone's chest? How insecure do you have to be to have this bother you?

I must have missed the part where LSU sent down security to make them remove the crosses or leave. There are still plenty of pictures on the LSU site with these guys and their crosses. It's just one promotional picture that LSU owns the rights to that they edited.

They already said they just wont use it next time. Y'all are the same people that would bitch if the Gov't threatened to "fine" LSU because of showing religious material. Non issue here.
