They're gonna have to spend money now wether they want to or not. They need to make a big hire with Chavis leaving for A&M. They need to make a statement to show they are committed to winning and that losing a coach to a division rival wasn't because they couldn't afford it.

You think there's going to be positive movement to start spending?

Depends on if the coaches demand/need the money.

It's all relative to the current situation.

so if Pendergast falls through, is Coach O our next option?

I hope we get Pendergast but I'm just wondering.

What part of "He is still a possibility" didn't you comprehend? You are the typical RANTER, probably have never heard of this guy before today, yet know for sure within 10 minutes of seeing his name on the internet that he's a home run hire.

Dis me.

*Sat 2014 out when Sarkisian brought his own DC when he took the USC job*

If this guy is the second coming of Jesus then why was he replaced at USC in 2014 after making USC the top ranked defense in the Pac 12? Wasn't the PAC-12 terrible in 2013?

Coaches want to bring in their own guys. Its not that difficult to comprehend. Read the article, they made the superbowl and he got canned

Because new coaches bring their own guys with him, which is why Chavis was so pissy about the "Miles clause" to begin with.

Which is why the miles clause was not the issue. It's a make believe issue

Chavis felt disrespected by Alleva and wanted that guaranteed 4th year

He's gone and it doesn't matter now.....time to move on

You can't guarantee a coordinator 4 years. If miles hangs it up next year, and the new coach wants someone else, your not paying chief for 3 years of not working for you.

I can't imagine too many, if any, coordinators have open ended 4 year deals.

Thus, it's a make believe issue

What exactly do you think the clause was? From LSU's end it prevented the very thing you mention, having to pay Chavis when the new guy would want to bring in his own DC.

Chavis wanted the clause removed because he didn't want his contract voided if Miles was gone.
