They were on probation dude. Context is important here.

And no depth at all with the sanctions

Possibly the guy LSU will be meeting with tonight.
But I think it's a long shot and not sure that the guy would actually want to work for Miles

You may actually be retarded.

Defense wins championships. Those types of defenses don't give up 60 points in a game.
I know everyone wants a quick home run hire, but Pendergast is not the guy.
We have 100x more talent than CAL.
He did very well in USC considering they had scholly/off the field issues.

"typical RANTER" with you inside info lmao.

They had sanctions remember? Plus with the T.O.P offense we like to run, there wouldn't be as many opportunities to surrender points

The PAC 12 is a lot more of an offensive league.

So what makes you think he will take the DC position if he turned Down TAM? What do you guys think of the timeframe for the hire?
that is telling isnt it.

Pendergast >>>>>> Mallory-Peveto two-headed monster that season that was a disaster!
Well, he was DC in the NFL, including when Arizona went to the Super Bowl. You can always drag out some stats--whether it is Pendergast or someone else, a new DC is needed quickly to salvage this recruiting class.
Who else can you get (not Ed O.--he'd be better as DL coach) on such notice with pretty good credentials for this position at this time, that would not require a processing lasting a few weeks or even more.
I believe most fans would be okay with Pendergast and I suppose he could work with Miles okay, since Miles focuses on offense more anyway.

Thanks, was really helpful. Pretty impressive to make Cal a top defense.

Looking at game results and he seems to have a few duds every year
2010:
52 points to Nevada
48 points to USC
48 points to Stanford
2011:
43 points to Oregon
2012:
49 points to Utah
59 points to Oregon
62 points to Oregon State
2013:
62 points to Arizona State
Chavis never allowed more than 44 points at LSU and opponents reached 40 points only twice.

Would love this hire even if we had to pay him what Chavis got at A&M. Almost looks like Miles and Alleva knew what they were doing and baited the Aggies into overpaying for us an upgrade!

What makes Clancy so great? Hire Bo Pelini as he is a proven DC. He is better as DC than HC. Pay him and watch the blitzes rain down.

He doesn't have any "sources". He's just enjoying the attention.
Posted on 12/31/14 at 5:15 pm to reed morton
Pelini already accepted a head coaching job at Youngstown St
