it sucks, but this kid had a lot more to lose than the random thugs in NBR. If you have that much to lose it behooves you to be more measured in your reaction.

I only hope it doesn't cost him and his contributions to the team...although I fear it will.

I wasn't really implying that. I was more just implying how often this happens in college but unfortunantly because it was a football player it makes news and some BRPD tough guy figured it would make him look great to make the arrest.

Yeah, of course he was arrested, no one is arguing that. But people are wrongfully arrested all the time. You know, you are innocent until proven guilty? We only have tidbits of information about this incident, don't know EXACTLY how the fight initiated.. etc etc. It's unfair to cast judgement on situations which you don't know all the facts.

"Our officers responded to Reggie's Bar, 1100 block of Bob Petit, around 2:15 a.m. on a fight," Kelly said. "Officers contacted a 20-year old male victim who told them he had been hit and knocked unconscious in the parking lot. Officers were also contacted by a witness who said he had videotaped the assault. The video showed the victim walking in the parking lot when a man, later identified as Jeremy Hill, struck the victim in the side of the head."

Kelly added that a second person was involved in the incident.

"A second unknown white male then also hit the victim, knocking him to the ground," Kelly said. "Officers notified LSUPD who located Hill on campus and detained him until our officers could take custody of him and book him into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, charged with Simple Battery. We are still attempting to identify the second suspect."
