Picking up where the other thread left off, let's continue discussing the production of LSU QBs over the years under Miles, the fit of QBs we recruit to our system, the progression of QBs over time in the system, etc.

I hope so but the way JJ regressed from year to year fuels my doubts. We need to fit the system to the QB and not try to force BH into a system he's not suited to run.

What exactly has Harris shown to you that he will be a good one when all is said and done?

I'm still up in the air about him, in genuinely curious what you've seen to make you think this.

After witnessing this meltdown for the month of November...Unless CCC steps down and we get a new OC who can tailor the offense to build BH's confidence, I really think we are in serious trouble for 2016.

BH - as bad as Jennings was last year you have to be playing bad if you start thinking maybe Jennings could do something

not sold on Harris at all - 15 yard out is not coaching

a wide open 6 ft 2 WR standing in the end zone - over throw him by 4 ft - not coaching

Less and Cam have made a mess of QB recruiting this year as well. Franks decommitted and they don't seem to have much of a back up plan. If it's Narcisse that's not much of a plan at all. He will be a great QB for someone but he is not a fit for LSU's system

He will be better than JJ but he will never be a Mett, Flynn, or JR. He doesn't have it in him.

1. LSU has a problem of recruiting the wrong qb. If we want to power run from the i then we need to recruit kids out of high school like mett.

2. If we want to get the DT threat then mold the offense towards their skill set and form into a power spread team, which i think is a mistake but its better than the hybrid shite we have now with a DT under center.

3. We waste perfectly good live reps in the name of not hurting feelings. we should be spending our cupcake games to build up our offense and work on route timing, then when we have put them away we need to bring in the back ups and get them live reps.

4. it is probably a good idea to recruit at least one qb each year, you never know what is going to happen. Also allows for a gamble on a kid like RP who is a shite head or some one like Z. Lee who could go pro. we could also recruit 3 pro set guys and then a DT in the fourth year. use the DT as a change of pace and slowly build them until seniors. we can have a nice assembly line with correct planning.

there are multiple factors involved and I guess you could chalk them up to excuses

1. state of Louisiana high schools usually put their most talented playmaker at QB. this equals no in state talent.

2. Les had Jamarcus, Flynn, and Perrilloux when he first arrived. We aren't pulling 5stars with that much talent on the roster. then RP gets kicked off the team the same year our QB guru leaves for Florida St. This leaves us with a crap roster now when we were expecting to groom Lee or Jefferson behind RP

3. Lee and Jefferson just aren't good and offense can't find an identity so it moves to a run heavy offense. Les sticks with this philosophy

4. Mettsiah comes in and plays terrific his last year with the assistance of Cam

5. Jennings and Harris are young with no starting experience in 2014. Jennings is replaced by Harris

6. Harris still was an improvement over Jennings and will continue to improve with two more years left. He doesn't look lost like Jefferson and Jennings.

that's just my two cents. yes Les could have done better with recruitment in the past, but has had terrible luck at QB as well.

top 3 qbs hurt and they have a wr at qb.

would you care to imagine how bad we would be without harris and jennings as options.

its not looking good at all, we were told BDP had to stay because franks. Now we don't have him for sure. I don't think LA has a qb that really fits what we need at LSU. we are probably better off getting a qb out of texas or florida.
