wow, I have to admit I expected this year's team to be a very good one - probably the best team we have had in several years. Didn't expect that #1 preseason ranking though...
Those projected draft slts - although neat to see - seem a bit high to me but who knows

This is one of 6 pre-season polls. I would be shocked if LSU is #1 in another poll. UNC is a beast this year. Fans should be happy, but to go crazy is a bit much...

Yeah, so I guess the entire Collegiate Baseball poll overracted too, right? It's definitely a valid opinion to think that LSU has the best baseball team going into next season. It might not turn out that way in reality, but it sure does seem to make a good bit of sense right now.

Doc, my point had more to do with the OMAHA and SICKEST TEAM IN THE NATION part of his post.
LSU is going to field a really good team this year, but I am not sold that they are the best team in college baseball. The fact that weekend pitching is a big question mark is the biggest contributing factor to my thinking.

What does #1 mean to you? Anyone can argue that nobody knows at this point because it's still the preseason. But there are a lot of people out there that went with LSU when forced to guess who the best will be next spring, and that's a fact.

Lets just say this, I will be surprised if they are #1 in BA, RIVALS or the Coaches Poll that is all.
Also, where are all the arguments that the #1 team from last year should start the new season at #1? Haha...

I'll say this: I'd have no problem with Fresno State getting an automatic bid into the NCAA playoffs this year.

That is nice to hear, but I'm not going crazy when they haven't won a game yet. Its a long season, but they have a lot of talent.

Funny thing is you don't mind when I am a HUG LSU HOMER, eh?
I just call it like I see it. I am a pretty big college baseball fan and I am a FAN of BOTH LSU and CSUF! I grew up a big LSU "homer", but I graduated from Fullerton.
I respect both teams and just wish they would schedule a home/away series SOON!

This is so exciting! Maybe this will make up for the disappointing football season. The baseball Tigers can set a good example for next year's football Tigers.
