that's not my point. maybe these guys just are not very good hitters, regardless of who's coaching them

They lead the SEC (SEC play) in batting average. Near the top overall. That argument is not going to fly.

Well since the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator are the same guy, it's his fault no matter what. It's his guys he recruited and taught how to bat. Really nowhere for him to escape blame.

Same reason you would get a new WR coach if your WRs lead the league in yards but were held with hardly any yardage in many of the most important games.

The avg proves they can get it done. The choking proves that they aren't being managed right.

yea because RR having little to no yards in big games and OBJ's subsequent lack of production was gonzales' fault

Ha, what? Did you think I was talking about LSU FB there or did you decide to initiate that comparison? I was making a general comparison there.

LSU's WRs as a group hardly had epic production at any time during the season. So they would hardly be a good comparison to a baseball team that hit .300+ in SEC play. LSU hitters got on base but choked way too consistently, especially in important instances.

That is definitely a coach accountable flaw, especially in baseball when it is happening to 9+ different guys at the same time.
