LSU pads

I’m sure this has been asked on here numerous times before, but what is it about LSU pads that you see guys in the NFL still wearing them?
My assumption is that they got to LSU and got fitted for pads for the first time and haven’t wanted to switch

I would have thought by now guys would want stuff from newer lighter tech on the NFL dime.
Unless they are getting fitted at LSU each year for new ones. Not sure but that’s possible too.
