Maybe I’m missing something, but how can Turner’s overall rating be in the mid 60’s when his run and pass blocking were each in the mid 70’s?

Do penalties impact score? May be a possibility. I know we had quite a few false starts

No idea how this works or means wouldn’t overall be the average of run and pass blocking???

I believe it’s penalties. If the penalty was a hold I know that goes against their pass block or run block directly. I’m assuming If it’s something like a false start that goes against their overall score

How do you get those overall averages with the grades given?

Pretty sure PFF just pulls stuff out of their arse.

Garrett Dellinger 50 on run blocking, ouch, not great.

Failed to apply sun block.

There’s plenty of room for improvement, but it’s hard to not be impressed with how much the better the grades over week one. If the line can get rid of the penalties and play better in the first half, we might be able to get a decent run game going. Things definitely seem to be heading in the right direction for a change.

“Score” is probably based on a combination of the pass/run ratio in addition to penalties.

In some scoring systems assignment errors can be weighed in similar to penalties. Getting beat physically but executing the right rule doesn't hurt you as much as totally blocking the wrong person.

Maybe a typo and should be 54.8 for run

Except for Turner none of the other guys are killing it in run blocking either.
Gotta see some improvement in that area. Running game is practically non-existent without JD's scrambling.

quote:That's mainly because he missed some combo blocks at 2nd contact. Wasn't getting to LBs fast enough. He did a very good job with the guy in front of him. Arnett did a lot of movement in the middle (twists/stunts) and some of those got the better of the IOL.
