It will be interesting to see if Mike Jones gets backup reps at Jack, instead of Desmond Little or Sai'vion Jones. Pass coverage was supposed to be his specialty. I wonder if he is really going to be taking reps at Nickel/Sam. But then who would you take off the field in order to put him in? Hopefully, Mike Jones will get plenty of reps in the 3rd or 4th quarter; that would mean LSU had built up a good lead on the scoreboard.

We don’t usually start 3 LB

Harold Perkins has started at Sam in three games this year: NM, FL, and AL.

Garner and Welch. Legit 1-2 next year. But need depth

You have to expect Laterrance Welch to be one of those starters. Perhaps Sevyn Banks can make a spectacular return. It is doubtful that Daylen Austin can land the starting role as a true freshman. There are some other candidates already on the team, but I suspect CBK will be looking at the portal for several players again next year.

that’s if Garner comes back. I hope we can keep him but he’s been having a pretty good season

Garner has been very good, starting every game for LSU this season. He could go pro, but if he decides to stay, he will technically have 2 more seasons to play (RS + COVID)

Yeah I was kinda surprised reading his bio the other day, didn't realize he was that old.

Yeah pretty sure he came to LSU so he could play one year on a big stage to improve his draft stock then leave. Recruiting looks very promising but i imagine BK will look for a portal guy or two to gain experience and be able to use the freshman as depth and not have to rely on them so early.

He's been one of our best corners this year dawg

I'd be highly surprised if he stays around

5 of 11 on Offense, 5 of 6 on Special Teams and 5 of 11 OR 6 of 11 (Burns and Foucha at the top of the depth chart is an OR) on Defense are either true freshmen or transfers,

15 or 16 of 28 top of the depth chart on this team were not on the team last year! Think about that for a second. What an amazing job this coaching staff has done and hats off to these players for buying in wholeheartedly.

ETA: wanted to change from started to top of the depth chart.
