To clarify, first-year starter doesn’t necessarily mean freshman. Whoever wins the starting job could easily be an upper-classman that has been with the program but just hasn’t had the opportunity to start yet.

AJ lacks talent

This place loves to eat its own. People were so high on AJ this time last year. It's funny how things turn around after a bad season.

Jennings has shown flashes, but perhaps this just means he is inconsistent at best. Also, I wonder if he just doesn't handle the pressure well. Not only does he have the situational pressure during a game, but he also is being pushed heavily by Harris.

Harris has more experience then cardale jones

Jones was a red shirt sophomore last year. How does that make any sense? That was his third year at Ohio state so he had two years to learn the playbook before he was put in a position to start when Harris had only a few months.

LSU QBs always struggle until they have 3 years in the system. Makes for a lot of tough years with the passing game, peppered with a good season every few years. If we can't have a simpler offense that allows young QBs to succeed, then I don't have any real reason to be optimistic until 2016.

QB coaches and playbook knowledge are apparently irrelevant to the discussion.

Especially with the Pro style system we run it takes time to get comfortable with everything. Being under the center with PA and drop backs 90% of the time is drastically different than running the spread from 5 yards deep to where you can see the plays unfold. Half the time under the center, your backs turned so when you go to throw and turn around you have to know where the receivers will be and make your progressions more quickly.

I think you are a little optimistic. A little better, yes we can and should expect that. Maybe average a little under 200 yards a game passing, which would be improving from terrible to mediocre. One guy needs to learn the plays and the system, the other needs to improve accuracy. Both need to learn to find the second option in patterns.

How much experience did Jones have playing in games?

Experience: Verb. encounter or undergo (an event or occurrence).
"the company is experiencing difficulties"
synonyms: undergo, encounter, meet, come into contact with, come across, come up against, face, be faced with
"some policemen experience harassment"

The optimism stems from the belief that Brandon Harris will start as a junior and senior in 2016-17, Feleipe Franks will start as a junior and senior in 2018-19, and Zadock Dinkelmann will start as a junior and senior in 2020-21.

With Cameron's pedigree, we very likely could be staring down an unprecedented run of elite QB performances at LSU.

Good attempt, now try looking for the definition of experience as a noun.

Thanks man I would have never known the definition of experience if you didnt put those synonyms in there. In game or out of game, experience is still experience. Do you know the maturity difference between an 18 year old and a 21 year old? or how much you could learn within that three year span compared to about 5 or 6 months? you sound so ignorant.

Yeah riding the bench with a clipboard is better "experience" than actually playing in the games...

Is this a new concept for you?

Three years on the bench... three days playing in a game.

so you think jennings would go pro after his junior year? if not for the arrest, Jennings would be the guy for the next two seasons resulting in two mediocre years for LSU football

So yesterday you were castigating people for not being open minded enough in discussions about QBs, yet all your posts on the subject have clear slant?

I think that having been arrested, Jennings will ride the bench until such a time that Harris proves that he is not capable of leading the offense. Given that he currently has equal the experience as when Jennings began the 2014 campaign, I don't see why such a thing would happen.
