Looked to me like the players were playing hard. I saw a lot of energy. Hard hits and hard runs. I'm not using that excuse.

It was clear LSU players and coaches were not into it and for Clemson was like a NC game. Don't let is mask the lack of a good OC though.

And LSU didn't give a shite

As a competitor you should give a shite EVERYTIME you take the field. If Miles can't get his team up for ANY bowl game lsu was selected to, then they should have just passed it up and stayed home.

And go ahead and tell the future recruits the truth regarding that as well. Let them know what the attitude of the program is in regards to winning.

You are right on! From the announcement to the final field goal nobody took this game seriously. Too many wanted to be somewhere else. Too many thought this would be an easy win. The fans weren't fired up, neither was the team. The pep rally at the FanFest was like a funeral - absolutely the worst I've been to here in Atlanta. It was shameful. And the crowd never got into it in the Dome - the Clemson fans out did us every quarter. All this shouldn't have made a difference. Great teams and great fans get the job done. Period.

And all you Negatigers ready to fire Les Miles, you need to look in the mirror before you start blaming anyone else.

If you want a real winner congratulate the Golden Band from Tigerland. They always show up, do their job, and perform better than any other college band in the country. Year after year, game after game.

How'd they feel last year, or against FL?

I do feel better knowing we really are vastly superior, just didnt want to win. Thank God

Exactly. Like somebody else said --this was just an exhibition game.

Coach Miles was wise to treat it as such.

Miles is paid a elite coaching salary to prepare the team to be successful in each game on the schedule. To do anything Les is insubordination and should be addressed by the AD and President.

This thread is terrible. So we get beat and we simple claim our team didn't care about the game?? give me a break. The idea that the team didn't care is retarded

I think the best way to describe last night is if this was the bcs national championship game, LSU wins it. That being said, we should have still won this game despite clemson going balls to the wall and us not. If zach hits that WIDE OPEN 2nd and 2 pass in the last 2 minutes, or we stop the 4th and 16 after, we still win. This kind of reminds me of the loss to syraclose back in 1989 when we where deflated from getting screwed out of the sugar bowl and dropping to the hall of fame bowl.

The only thing close in this game was the score. Clemson absolutely dominated this game.

LSU players were giving 100% out there.

I think your right on as far as the fans werent excited about the game but to say the team wasnt fired up is plain stupid. Those kids fought hard last night and I thought had a plenty of energy and laying the hits. They play college football trust me this isnt peewee sports. All these guys that are playing grew up having competitive fire and winning is everything to them. I think A lot of them looked like they were having fun.

The problem with our team is that they only "come to play" for certain games which is not ok. This is a reflection of our undeciplined coaching.

The greatest of the great hate losing at checkers. Us mere morals can't fully understand the competitive nature of elite athletes. If I thought that LSU football players weren't competitive because of the bowl they were playing in or the opponent they were facing I would lose all respect for them. I happen to not believe that about our football team.

rather than clemson knew what lsu game plan was from the start? i think every team in the country knows how to stop that simpleton offense.

Yep.

We must've not cared about the BCS Championship Game last year either.

The sad part is that we still could've won, but poor coaching decisions helped Clemson get the W.

But if you 1st atatement is true......Getting dominated like that scares the hell out of me for the Future of LSU football.IMO. LSU's offense looked like they Deserved to be in the Chick-Fil-A bowl. NOT tthe Cotton or Cap one bowl.

Clemson knew what LSU was doing on offense. Anyone with talented personnel can defend it.
