Please stop this. We've seen what they have (and that's all that they have)... It's pretty awesome.... but that's it and we beat it in their house with our "B" game. They've seen what we had, but we have SOOOO much more than that, it's mind boggling. We don't play over confident, we get the job done. The next job is burying the second best team in the country..... and it's a given!

Your handle fits you perfectly. Get the frick over it. LSU gets plenty of respect. You must be watching the networks' second string or something.

Stop looking at one side of the coin. LSU gets tons of respect. No one is ignoring them. Sure there are delusional experts out there, but then again if they weren't delusional than they never would have been hired.

Here's a good example. Noah Spence just committed to Ohio St. He was a long shot for LSU because he's in Buckeye country. But OSU fans make it out to be like they plucked him out of Louisiana. They are so happy to snag the guy cause they RESPECT LSU for what they have done on the field and will continue to do on the field.

Don't personalize things. This is not about LSU getting respect. There is a simple game at play here. Those who want to destroy the BCS system pushed hard for this matchup and are hoping Bama wins because it helps to discredit the BCS. This has nothing to do with anyone hating LSU or LSU fans.

How does Bama winning discredit the BCS system? It pretty much means they found the right team that could be you. The purpose of the BCS is to pit the 2 best teams and I think they got it right.

the purpose of the BCS has never been to put the 2 best teams in the CG.

Look it up. Check the BCS website....you will not find that language anywhere on that site.

It's no matter nor is it the purpose of this thread to decide if Bama should be there or not. However It's obvious that the majority of LSU fans feel that the rematch and most of the media coverage are disrespectful toward an undefeated LSU. Some LSU fans can't seem to handle that opinion.. It is what it is.

LINK

Matching the top two rated teams is exactly what the BCS does, not sure why you are confused.

From the BCS website

quote:

The BCS is a five-game showcase of college football. It is designed to ensure that the two top-rated teams in the country meet in the national championship game, and to create exciting and competitive matchups among eight other highly regarded teams in four other bowl games.

BCS selection(from the same site)

Automatic qualification

quote:

1. The top two teams in the final BCS Standings shall play in the National Championship Game.

Team selection procedure

quote:

The bowls will select their participants from two pools: (1) automatic qualifiers, all of which must be selected, and, (2) at-large teams, if fewer than 10 teams qualify automatically. The following sequence will be used when establishing pairings:

1. The top two teams in the final BCS Standings will be placed in the National Championship Game ("NCG").

I kind of like it when all the so-called experts pick our opponent. It reminds me of when the Saints were playing the Colts in the SB in 09. Just about everyone picked the Colts and all the Saints did was go in there and take care of business. The same will be true of this LSU team.

This go round its: Bama won everywhere but the scoreboard, give Saban time to make corrections, bama has redemption to motivate them and the list goes on.

It is a little silly isn't it. Still, LSU has to win...again. I think they will and handily.

2 top rated and 2 best teams are not always the same year in and out. The werent this year so ESPN lobbied for bama. OSU had the better body of work but this year for the first time, it became about who could actually beat LSU. (Money for ESPN played a huge part for their role)
Thats why this year for the first time we didnt hear the normal montra ...of " Regular season counts" and "Overall resume" and "Entire body of work".

I am sure why you are confused. As i said you will not find the language of 2 best teams anywhere on their website and you did not, Your gump narcissism prevents you from seeing the only reason bama remained #2 is because they are ESPN's money ticket. In conclusion, pedal that shite on the SECR. I dont buy that spin anymore than I buy 13.

Also from the BCS website...which i have linked many times.

quote:

This robust system of post-season bowl games offers rewards for teams and places a great premium on the regular season.

Yeah right

I saw the little ESPN Andy whatever his face is try and spin this thing and blame it on the Big 12 for past decisions. What he says if you are smart enough to understand it is. "Dont blame us that the system can be manipulated." And he is saying that because the system clearly was manipulated. The shites all funny when it benefits your team but it wont be when it doesnt. We need a playoff.

It was impressive to see ESPN influence the thought process of so many people in regards to what team should face LSU. ESPN actually had people concentrating on who had the "Better Loss". WTF is a better loss? All the while ignoring the # of wins against ranked opponents.

No one on the face of the earth has said LSU doesn't have a chance to win. Perfect example of the phantom disrespect that so many fans want to see.

I'll be honest, I only read the first few lines.

The BCS assures that the top two teams play, nothing more nothing less. The criteria is very simple, 1 vs 2, no exceptions.

Take a chill pill dude, and let this thread die.

And take your phantom disrespect 'so that I can get fired up and start a thread about' it with you.

"Bama fan said" and "ESPN hates us" are the ultimate strawman argument and should not be used in a thread or post unless you are under the age of 17.

Pointing out the disrespect the media has toward LSU should never be confused with miserable. But i cannot ignore the obvious.

I couldnt be happier about LSU's Football Team. We are undefeated after playing a ridiculous schedule.....just wished the media was more fair and balanced.

But how can they be when they have the money axe to grind.

One good thing about playing bama 2 times is that LSU should they win will be the goat.
