People who think that just amaze me. We knew going into this year we would struggle with 2 freshman QB's. Bottom line is you can't win a championship in the SEC anymore without good QB play.

LSU just won the MNC LAST FREAKING YEAR! Saturday LSU was better than the #1 team in the nation minus the QB play we win by 10 or more points. We have one of the best recruiting classes in LSU history coming here, unless the fans screw it up, give them time.

Not giving Miles credit for winning the MNC LAST YEAR, is comical. You people who believe that watch way to much College Football Live.

Lets see: Saban has Alabama #1 his second season but it has nothing to do with Shula's talent.
Meyer wins an MNC his second year but nothing to do with Zook's talent.
Miles wins a MNC his 3rd year but all Saban's talent?

Doesn't make much sense to me.
UF lost 4 games last year!
UA will lose 4 games next year!

Bottom line is our QB play has been bad but LSU is NOT in decline.

It is difficult if not impossible to repeat as MNC with the challenges facing programs trying to re-load talent every year. We all knew that this was going to be a down year, just as Florida knew after they won it. Look at them now, and see what we will be next year.

Our challenge now is to finish out the year with wins. The remaining game that concerns me is Ole Piss.

qb play is bad, yes. the comparasions to last years UF team to LSU's is not at all accurate. to me that team would beat lsu by 2 touchdowns. We did win the MNC championship last year, yes and I will take that all day long however myself along with everyone in the national media said we backed into it. Heck we lost to Ark at the end of the year. If Georgia or florida was in the secg, we lose, but we won the national title and thats all what matters. On top of our qb play, people seem to forget our Defense is among the worse in the conference. I thought I would never see that day again and miles will not make changes next year at dc and that will yield more problems. To me we are in a decline bc next year I see 4 loses again.

Whatever happened to just being a fan and supporting your team no matter what? I would like them to be undefeated and rolling people over. But, just b/c they're not doing that doesn't mean they're not my favorite team. You can't be the best EVERY year (as much as I wish we could be). anyways...

this isn't eve debatable
Those that do are ridiculous
Perilloux was a calculated risk that a anybody wouldve taken
We re recruiting top flight talent
We will come out of this at some pt next yr as strong or stronger than ever
Miles adapts and will learn as will crowton
Will he replace the def coords?
Maybe not probably depends on the finish
The D showed me a LOT last game

Our folks are drunk with success and think it's our birth right to win the title every year. Anything other than an MNC EVERY year will not satisfy them. Even if we do win it, there are people here who will complain about how we should have blown the opponent out in the title game instead of a close win and in a blow out, they would have complained about a pass interference that should have given us another TD. Good lord! Some people here do amaze me!!!

you will base your decision on one game? we have the worse defense in the conference and bama had the worse offense of the 3 big games we played this year.

anybody who had lsu going to the national championship this year needs to get checked out. I predicted 3 loses it actually looks like we will lose 1 more down the stretch probably ole piss. Its the manner how we are losing. Take the bad qb play out of the equation, our defense is still one of the worse in the conference. Can't blame anyone besides les miles on that.

Your 100% correct. Sometimes I wonder what the hell some of the poster's expect from LSU. We out played the #1 team in the country Saturday and have nothing to be ashamed of. We have a weakness at QB. Alabama did for three years. Go Tigers.

so we should be happy for moral victories now? Its still debatable whether bama is truly the best team in cb. I know they are ranked there but honestly I think there are 3-4 teams better than bama as of now.

I'd say a Decline has to be at least 2-3 years of horrible performance--- a la Michigan, ND, the U..those programs have a way more prestigous history than LSU, and been declining over the past few years...hell, Florida lost 4 after they won the MNC, now look at them a year later..

we've been spoiled with the recent success, but we have lost 3 games, to Top 10 teams, all starting senior qb's

The game against Alabama just shows how talented LSU really is and in my opinion can play with just about anybody if we had a quarterback.

Not really.

Tennessee went from the SECC game and two Outback Bowl appearances to a fired coach and losing record over the course of 8 games.

Michigan went from 11-2 and a win over UF to the doldrums of the Big 10.

It can happen quick, but I agree with you that the downward spiral starts with 2-3 years of subpar recruiting.

I wonder how many of you will feel the same way if we lose to Ole Miss?

Y'all are delusional. We played OK overall. Our D was still giving up big plays early. Didn't Coffee rush for like 130 yards? I guarantee the rest of the country does not think we outplayed them.

And as Lloyd Bridges pointed out...our defense has been laughable this season. We have gaping holes in our reputable D line. I've actually been very happy with the young corners...especially PP. Oh...and OTHER SEC TEAMS ARE PLAYING YOUNG PLAYERS, TOO (incl. UF, UGA, and BAMA). There has been confusion on both sides of the ball. Lee has been our Achilles heel on offense. He may get better, but he may not...and we'll never know if our backup is any better.

I've posted it as well...we are staring another 3 or 4 loss season in the face if our coaching staff does not work to fix the problems that we have. We will be starting a lot of new guys on the O and D line next year.

We went from preseason #6 to possibly being unranked if we drop another game. Tell me that's not underachieving. Nobody said anything about not supporting the Tigers no matter what. I'm just "ranting" about our underachieving. We have top talent slated to come in to our program, and I want to keep them. And, with top recruiting classes should come top rankings if you have good coaching. Do we?

I am glad I am not the only one that thinks like that. If we lose 4 games this year, Espn will mark us as the biggest disapointment in college football this year

i agree, it does happen very quickly...but Michigan has started over from scratch basically, and who knows how long it will take Tenn to get back on track..In no way is LSU declining, when we are reloading and bring back tons of tons a talent and a top 5 recruiting class.

Some of the "experts" had us still winning the west and some even going back to the NC. We have too many playmakers on offense to be this disappointing. Byrd, Lafell, Tolliver, CS, Murphy, Holliday, KW and a massively talented, veteran O-line. Any coach in the country would be drooling over the talent we have. How do you think JL would be playing with a mediocre O-line and mediocre receivers and running backs?

I know JL can't help the recent drops by our receivers...but something must not be clicking between him and the corps. I don't know what it is.
