maybe team of the decade within the SEC after 2007

Never were clearly the team of the decade for the country IMO... first few years it was Miami, then OU, USC, OSU, Fla entered the discussion as well

So yes, one of the best programs of the last decade but never head and shoulders above the rest on a national scale

It's a statement for LSU to prove their offense is back on track.

I agree with Justus LSU had better be ready and take chances in this game just like a bowl game. Truthfully they've been close to the same level as LSU the past 2 years.

the biggest thing I can't stand about miles is his teams practically never put other teams away. other than 07 vs Ohio St. and Virginia Tech. It's like they don't have a killer instinct.

LSU will make a statement to elite coaches around the country: Look what talented players you may be coaching this year.

2011 could be a great year!

I have not sensed that intensity in preparation for NC from this LSU team

Two Problems with this:
1) Hopefully our football team and coaches are not preparing for North Carolina at this point. Hopefully they are working out, conditioning, working on fundamentals and general organizational concerns.
2) How do you know what the intensity that North Carolina possesses? Are you there? In their locker room? In their team meetings.

Come August the North Carolina game/ game plan will be a big concern, until then I hope our players are focusing on strength, conditioning and technique to make themselves better. I hope they put it all together in August and come out focused and ready to play.

Folks, this is North Carolina football, not basketball. Did you see their spring game? Good gawd, man, they have ZERO running game, NO offensive line, a QB who can't complete a swing pass and a slow secondary.

As long as LSU's offensive tackles control those two DEs (who are pretty good and highly regarded by NFL scouts), then we win in a walk.

If UNC scores more than 10 points on LSU, you'll probably have to check me into the hospital.

That would have been before the 2008 season began when LSU was the only team to have won the BCS twice, was considered the top program in the SEC, had a number of 5* players lining up to get on board. Miles was 2-1 against Meyers and Fla. Miles and LSU had made Meyers and Tebow leave Tiger stadium crying. Alabama was an afterthought.

LSU and USC were the main competition for team of the decade at that time. Many felt LSU should be favored because of the 2 BCS titles and having played in the much tougher SEC versus the USC's Patsy 10.
