All teams will have some fans with whom I would not associate....more so in a real urban area as New Orleans... (does not exclude some of the LSU fans)

NFL fan bases in general have way more trashy fans than college fan bases. That’s just my experience.

Yeah, fan bases that are made up of mostly small town people that think loud and passionate = a-hole. I think that's why LSU and Georgia fans get along. There's a lot of Georgia fans from Atlanta so they are used to loud and passionate. As opposed to say, fans of Ole Miss, Mississippi State or Alabama who aren't used to loud, exuberant, abrasive personalities, coming from small Protestant or Baptist towns.

Every Piggly Wiggly type store that I go to that sells sports teams has just as much saints gear as LSU gear. Idk what you’re talking about.

one fan base is associated with an EDUCATIONAL institution,
(hopefully w some education) the other one has fans "at large"...

Can't one be a fan of both? It's not like they ever play each other. I grew up in NOLA and I have two degrees from LSU, and I'm a fan of both. I've never heard of someone hating the Saints just because they're a fan of LSU. I've only seen northern and western Louisiana not care too much for the Saints, but those people are basically East Texas or South Arkansas.

Ever since I was a kid I was way more into the college game than the NFL. I may occasionally tune into one of their games because nothing else is on worth watching. Even then I quickly quit paying attention and find something else to do with the free time.
The only thing I hate about them is the bandwagon fans that come out of the woodwork when they are doing well. Right now my entire office is suddenly full of Saints fanatics doing that stupid "Choppa Dance" and saying Who Dat.
Of course every type of team has those fans, it is just in Louisiana we don't have many big sports teams to root for so when a season like this comes out, it feels like the "enthusiasm" is worse.
