The SEC champ is in the playoff, period.

No so fast my friend. Baylor/TCU winner, OSU are in based on not playing anybody. Body of work could get a one loss Tiger team in. No way Houston or Memphis get in

I could see a situation where Ohio State or MSU get upset in their title game.

IF we win the SEC we are in, but I could see a situation where a weak SEC east team upsets bama, and we get in over bama because we have 1 loss and they have 2. This would still set up 1 SEC team.

2 SEC teams is unlikely but if there is a conference with two it will be the SEC.

not if a 2 or 3 loss SEC east team wins. Florida could lose two games and still make the SEC championship.

But does the cancelation bite us in the butt here? One lost plus one less game?

I don't believe it would considering it was a rent a win.

Well what evidence do you have that a one loss SEC team is going to get in without winning the conference?

No. Just win the SEC and we're in.

Ok in 2011 what three teams would have been over bama?

Just beat Alabama and win the SEC. Those two things will guarantee a playoff spot.

I think we would need to be a 1 loss SEC champion to get in. Even if that loss is to Bama, if Bama trips up against someone else and that sends us to Atlanta where we win the SECCG we are in. Anything more than 1 loss and we're done.

We aren't talking about 2011. You brought it up in a weak attempt to bolster a false argument.

But just to play your game. Bama was clearly the best or second best team in the country that year.

If we lose a key game then the team that beats us will have the tie breaker head-to-head. We have to keep winning to win it all.

Close. We'd still have to have no more than one loss and the right things would have to happen in other conferences. Undefeated Baylor, Utah, Ohio State and Clemson/FSU would all go ahead of 1-loss SEC champion LSU, IMO.

Not necessarily. Either A&M or Ole Miss will suffer its second loss this weekend. We could lose to that team and still win the division as long as we didn't lose any other games.

I would think they will have to win them all especially Bama, then if you drop one later it will only hurt down the stretch because you don't have time to make it back up.

Interesting case would be if they won out and lost to UF in title game, would that eliminate them considering you already beat them.

Toughest game will be Ole Miss outside of Bama

And you can throw Clemson in there if they beat FSU. If FSU beats Clemson, they would still have to get by Florida, but if they did, they would be in, too.

That's likely at least two and probably three spots already taken by teams who aren't likely to lose. Throw in a possible undefeated Utah, not to mention an SEC champion that is not LSU, and it would be very dicey for us.
