You’d should. He attended LSU for more years than half of the die hard Tigers that post here
I don’t think he made it a full year FWIW...

Didn’t he basically quit before the season was over?

that's the way I think about it too, although technically I think it's someone who attended a school.

But that means someone who attended LSU for 1 day qualifies as an alum. What is nonsense, as much nonsense as it is to consider Simmons an alum. He was barely here, rarely attended class, and left as soon as he could.

I'll continue considering the definition to mean a graduate of a school.

So that means you don't consider any of the football players that do not graduate an alumni either, correct?

Edit - or baseball

loved watching ben play in the Purple and Gold. It's not his fault johnny jones is a horrific coach. He put up amazing stats for a freshman and knew he would be special in the NBA. The fans trashing him are pathetic. Geaux Ben congratulations.

My personal view of an alum is a graduate of a school. But I guess I can soften that to more of a sliding scale.

Someone who's here 3 years, probably so. But someone who attends for a semester or two? No, I don't consider them an alum.

to whoever downvoted this - if a guy attends LSU for one semester and flunks out, you consider him an alum????

here's the kicker though. Many fanboys who went or have been going to LSU for 2 semesters then flunk out don't consider me (a SLU alumni) a true LSU fan because I didn't go to LSU at any point. Those same fanboys are the ones hatin' on Simmons.

My point is that students, previous students, or alumni who designate true LSU fans as those who attend the University should be the first to be cheering Ben Simmons on as a great Tiger doing great things. Not the case, imo...
