Spieth was -5 in 2015
Dustin -4 in 2016
Koepka -16 last year
Koepka won it at +1 this year lol
It was a bit harder this year

Maybe he's saying +16 wasn't bad considering how the course played?

That's at least how I took it. Sam Burns had a decent outing as well.

Only 15 players scored below +10.

Here are a few of the big names that scored +16 or worse:
Mickelson,
Furyk,
Snedeker

And those that didn't make the cut:
Spieth,
McDowell,
McIlroy,
Woods,
Watson,
Day,
Schwartzel,
Kuchar,
Kisner,
Scott,
Rahm,
Els

I'm going to say that he meant +16 wasn't bad considering how the course played.
