I came across a presentation from the LSU Facility Design & Development Committee (Q4 of 2013) showing designs for the new Foundation Building. I know they were supposedly planning to scale down the initial designs but as previously reported intend to break ground following sessions adjournment. Does anyone (Golfer, etc) know if these Foundation renderings are current?

Also, does anyone have any information on where the new Nutrition Facility will be built in reference to the Foundation Building? To its west? From what I've gathered the Nutrition Center may be the solitary building on the bottom left near the railroad (see 1st graphic). I passed it on the way to class and it looks like the construction crew is preparing the ground on the backside of the property. I appreciate any responses

While I don't know, I'm just jumping in to say those are some very sexy renderings

I agree and can always count on you to be in these threads

I've been trying to find more recent presentations on Facility Services website but have had 0 luck so far

That site sucks. I feel like LSU has 1000 renderings of renovations down the road sitting around, but they're too lazy to put them up. Been wanting to break into that office for awhile now

Nah. Those renderings aren't current. Similar design just 3 or 4 floors as opposed to 5 or 6 IIRC.

Was that all supposed to be the foundation? I actually agree that'd be too big, but the facilities could be used for other things

No. Supposed to be mixed use public/private. Don't think the financing/public interest was there.

In other words, the Nicholson project ambitions are over?

I hope not. LSU desperately needs to clean up that area. It's an embarrassment. I don't see how there isn't sufficient public interest to do so.

So the rendering below is current? Totally forgot I had this. Will the Foundation be on the corner of Bertman/Nicholson or will the Nutrition Center take its place?

It's still on. Remember, most of the project is the Foundation and student housing. The mixed use part isn't dead either. Interest slowed when the Foundation building got scaled back, understandably so.

Looks current to me.

The LSU Foundation Center for Philanthropy, the foundation’s new headquarters, held its groundbreaking ceremony Friday at its location on the corner of Skip Bertman and Nicholson drives.

With a look at a few renderings of the project, it’s easy to envision the Tiger Athletic Nutrition Center as the kind of landmark LSU officials are looking for on the Nicholson corridor. The roughly 22,500-square-foot building, which will be built on a 1.7-acre site formerly home to the old Alex Box Stadium, will be a state-of-the-art building in the Italianate-style architecture that’s commonplace on the campus. The renderings show a tile roof and archways across the front of the single-story building, as well as a tree-studded outdoor plaza.

But the nutrition center won’t be the only landmark building for LSU in the Nicholson Drive Corridor. It will be built adjacent to where the new headquarters for the LSU Foundation is planned at the corner of Nicholson and Skip Bertman drives.

Same here, leggo

I've seen various 'sub-masterplans' that firms have produced. There's a few out there that include a science wing south of Tiger Stadium, another that includes an emerging technology campus that'd span from the parking lot by Parker Coliseum to the EA Sports/Tech Center, and I've seen a masterplan for athletic facilities. None follow LSU's current masterplan nor have we seemed to follow their suggestions

Eta: I hope LSU isn't continuously paying for this shite they're not using
