Why most local predictions say LSU will lose at Ole Miss? Is that because of how LSU played them last year? I know defense was terrible in that game.

The media is all over Ole Miss this year after they signed a top 5 recruiting class..

Typical preseason hype.

I wouldn't call it preseason hype like the last time Ole Miss was getting credit in the offseason [2009]. They have a QB that I believe is the 4th best QB in the SEC [3rd best in the SECW], an improved running/receiving game & nine starters returning on defense.

No one rated ole misses recruiting class in the top 5!
Lsu's class was rated higher by every service. The highest I saw ole miss was 7th

I believe Mett has the highest ceiling. Whether he reaches it or not is another thing. I wouldn't put him in the top 5 at this point based on last season.

As of right now, yes I would take Wallace over ZM8. The only knocks I have on him are that he threw 17 INTS last year & that he's coming off of shoulder surgery [He's one of the toughest QB's in our conference.]

Also against SEC opponents he pulled this in his first year.

158/250
12 Tds Ints 10
63% completion
*6 rushing tds

ZM8
130/237
5 Tds 4INTS
54% Completion rate

It's because Hugh Freeze is a new, innovative , young coach in this league and there is a lot of energy and optimism in their program now. As compared to the medias perception of Miles as a great recruiter but a bumbling idiot on game days with mass confusion on the sidelines, lack of discipline and curious play calling that always keeps our games close. Like it or not, those are consistent staples of miles coached teams...

At this point, bo Wallace is a better QB than Mett. Wallace has reached his ceiling though, and I expect Mett to be much better from the beginning of the season tho he was at any point last season.

Mass confusion on the sidelines? Lack of discipline?

I'll give u the curious play calling but that's about to be a thing of the past.

Again, for the 3rd time, I will ask you, who would you have brought in here, that wouldve done a better job than Miles? U criticize alot but u have no suggestions ever! Its gotten old, either suggest someone or STFU.

LSU is poised to have the number 1 recruiting class again. His coaches may be the best in the business and they continue to stay with this man. Studwara took a demotion and stayed with this bumbling idiot. Chavis isnt looking to go elsewhere and Cam Cameron took the job to work for this idiot. The AD also gave this idiot another raise and extention.
He will be on ESPN for 5 hours tomorrow hyping LSU football on Nat'l TV. Watch some of that bumbling idiot continue to put LSU in the minds of top recruits for many years to follow.
We are waiting for your suggestion on who LSU shouldve hired 9 years ago or when we shouldve fired Miles and who wouldve been your guy at that time.
U have the entire profession to choose from. We're waiting!

Hugh Freeze made some bumbling idiot game day decisions last yr. In fact his play call, after a timeout, on 4th and an inch against A&M was the dumbest thing Ive seen in 8 years.
Speaking of mass confusion, with the score 35-35, they had a first down on the LSU 17 with 5 minutes to go and he couldnt get the play call in! Running around like a buffoon. He was too excited to handle the moment. Wasting timeouts and then horrible play calling leads to a 53 yard FG attempt that left LSU in great position to score the winning TD vs punting and pinning them down and putting the pressure on LSU.

Mett hasn't been consistent, and Murray wasn't hot against Florida. South Carolina's Connor Shaw deserves a mention.

I think the schedule is a factor in why some folks think we lose this game. It is at the end of a stretch of 5 SEC games in a row without a week off. Guys will be dinged up because we will not have had a week off to heal up in a while.

Not saying we lose, but based on the schedule, how they played us last year, and what they return, it is more likely this year than it has been in a while. If the Rebs can't find a way to win this year it may be a while before they have a good shot to beat LSU again.
