Lighten up, baw. The US has no official language anyway.

Might be an unpopular opinion because I do like Chris Blair’s professionalism, but I feel like Mario would have the passion that we’ve been missing since Hawthorne retired.
Woah! Dude is way better in Spanish than he is in English

What part of the Spanish American war or Mexican American was waged against La. Spanish speaking citizens?
Against American citizens?
I must have missed this part of history, so excuse my ignorance..

Mario was born and raised in New Orleans, is an American, and has been bilingual all his life. His parents are from Guatemala, I believe and came to Louisiana as students at LSU. The love for LSU runs strong in this family.
Mario is as American as you or I. Broadcasting to the Latino community on New Orleans radio has been a tradition for over fifty years. It's no different than the French radio stations in the Lafayette area.
If someone can bring the flavor of LSU football to an audience of people who might not have been tuned in, I think that's awesome!
Mario,

Mario still does the games in Spanish. Someone who does their broadcast in English did not like that everyone loved the Spanish highlights, so LSU stopped promoting it.
I've tweeted with Mario a few times about this since the 2019 season ended because that was obviously his greatest hits.
In 2020 he said that covid cutbacks led to hus calls not being edited & posted. Then last season he said he didn't know if they'd do them again.
I imagine there's some "read between the lines here" but I'm 1000% on the boat that LSU Sports needs to bring them back in a big way this year & beyond. Also do it for big sports/games too. Some quality Spanish highlights for basketball, baseball, beach vball, heck - even gymnastics would be top quality entertainment!
