North Texas will make six out of 13. If that isn't reason enough to re-think the way you schedule gatherings of 90K+ people, what else do you need?
Well, it's six out of 13 (actually, I get 14), but it's also six out of about 130, as there were no weather-related cancellations/postponements/etc. prior to 2005 since Hurricane Hilda forced the postponement of the Florida game in 1964. I'll grant you that we've had bad luck these last few years with weather problems, but I don't think two years out of the last 44 having weather affect our games is enough to warrant panicking to the point of putting us at a severe disadvantage (playing every season without any "warm up" games against cupcakes before diving into SEC play) and asking the entire conference to significantly alter its preferred scheduling system, not to mention pissing off the conference's flagship TV network (CBS, not ESPN).

Louisiana's weather caused 9-11? I thought it was the government secretly trying to drum up fear by staging a fake terrorist attack so they could suspend all our freedoms, institute a dictatorship and start a war!
Either that or crazy religious fanatics.
But Louisiana weather?

Where am I going wrong?
I agree with the sentiment that scheduling August home games is asking for trouble. The season seems to get longer every year. However, I'm for going to the experts - what does the University of Miami (FL) and their conference do to handle this situation?
