Sorry but LSU is still very easy to get into, don't understand what you are talking about. And alums of other schools should support their school.
this. it doesn't take a genius to get into LSU.

You need a 3.2 and at least a 23 on your ACT
I never took the ACT. And my acceptance letter said I could enroll upon completion of a high school equivalency program.

I don't want the dumb people who can't get into LSU to create a negative image of the school I went to. That is why I don't like when ULL, Southeastern, La Tech, and UNO grads go all out for LSU
You don't have to worry, there are plenty of LSU alums that do just that on their own.

I had no problem getting in in 1974.

There are three factors that will be initially considered for admission to LSU.
•Incoming freshman must have at least a 3.0 academic gpa calculated from academic core courses.
•Students must also have completed at least 18 units of college-preparatory courses.
•Applicants must have a minimum of SAT score (critical reading and math) of 1030 or at least a composite ACT score of 22.
As the Flagship University of Louisiana, LSU does not offer any remedial courses;
INTERESTING COMPARISON:
PENN STATE Basic Admissions Requirements
The University does not have a minimum GPA or standardized test score used for admission: we consider a combination of your GPA and standardized test scores, as well as a few other factors.
The high school grade-point average (GPA) accounts for approximately two-thirds of our decision. The remaining one-third is based on other factors, which may include standardized test scores (SAT or ACT), class rank, personal statement and activities list.
BAMA
The University of Alabama employs a competitive admission process that includes reviewing and evaluating each application on an individual basis for an applicant's abilities as a student and a scholar. Decisions about the potential for your academic success at UA are based on your performance on the ACT and/or SAT, your high-school grade point average, and your high-school course schedule. (For example: A student with a 21 ACT or 1000 SAT along with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 should be successful at the University.)

UL is on pace to surpass LSU in 20 years or so.
Posted on 3/8/11 at 4:44 pm to Hermit Crab
I see no reason why a graduate or student of another school can't be a fan of LSU. I grew up a die hard LSU fan but lived in Thibodaux, LA all my life. Financially and because of the location it makes sense for me to attend Nicholls. Do I wish more than anything that I could be at LSU? Yes. But it just isn't possible. I support Nicholls' athletics and sometimes attend, but in the three years i've been at Nicholls I haven't missed an LSU home football game and hold season tickets to LSU baseball.
The name of the institution that is on the piece of paper I receive when I graduate shouldn't determine who I grew up pulling for, pull for, and will always pull for.

Tigerman 18...Thanks. LSU was very selective back in my day. Out of state and transfers had problem getting accepted. After LSU football became KING the dorms filled up and the classrooms overflowed. They had to turn away a lot of students. I did attend during the golden years. Married and lived in the brand new student married housing. Ha! Plans are for them to be torn down....today. Long time Tiger fan....can anyone match that???

For all you youngsters (under 40), LSU is the Flagship University. All in Louisiana should be fans. Out of state folks or either those too young do not get it. We can pull for McNeese and Northwestern, too. We may have to attend a smaller school, but LSU is LSU! ULL can change its name to UL, but it will never compete with LSU. No challenge or competition there. Just had to get that straight.
As an LSU alum, I could give a rats arse who pulls for who. I support LSU, and USL can go pretending to be whatever they want to be, because no one believes them

I have no problem with people who go to other schools rooting for LSU. In fact I think it's awesome. I mean if you go to USL why would you want to root for them?
I know a guy who went to USL and I have to hear his crap about how LSU profs didn't care about teaching, when in fact the person flunked out of LSU.

Until the late 80's early 90's LSU was forced by the Fed Govt to have an open admission policy because of the imbalance in the percentage of non-white students compared to the overall under-grad population.
Requirement to get in: breathing.
