So sick of hearing this. It's my dream job too. Should they have hired me? People don't want the guy gone because of one loss. They want him gone because he should never have gotten the job in the first place. And I don't want to hear anyone asking about who else was out there. The guy who kicked our arse Saturday was out there and would have gladly come here. Why hire him? He's coached at the little brother school in a talent poor state and gone to eight straight bowl games. In that same state, O couldn't muster a winning season at the big brother school.

Let that last part sink in.

There was huge support on here for O. I feel it had a lot to do with why he was hired. Problem is, a hundred ole baws get on here and it makes it look like the fan base supports the hire.

Never thought I would but I told my dad I'm not buying season tickets next year and to take our name off of them.

Coincidentally I got mail today from lsu asking for a donation. It went straight into the garbage

They won't want to hear it but you're right, LSU's fan base is very fair weathered. Don't get me wrong, I hated losing to MSU, particularly the way they stomped us and I think that CEO has to rethink his approach a little, but these are our kids and we need to support them, through the entire games and through the entire season.

Today in narratives that need to die again:

quote:

hired a guy who would literally bleed purple and gold. This is his dream job.

quote:

And, every poster/"fan" wants to run the guys out of town.

quote:

But, if you only support them on the victories, what kind of person are you? I will tell you: a typical LSU fan.

Etc.

Not only that...

quote:

True fans have opinions but also support the team.

"Team" doesn't necessarily mean head coach, nor does it have to mean administration. All of the talk blames forces outside of the players control, generally speaking. No one is saying LSU stinks or should lose explicitly. Most are arguing for 1) Alleva to be held accountable 2) O to either get his stuff together or figure something else out. - You know if he loves LSU and all.

And most have admitted they'd rather be proven long, AND realize firing O right now is probably impossible. Doesn't mean people have to be happy with the situation or have confidence in O.

There's a huge difference between losing and losing like that.
People have a right to be asking questions at this point.

Well said.

No one will ever find me running down the players. My ire has always been focused on two people, Orgeron and Alleva. Some here though would rather slam 18 and 19 year old players than grown men that are getting paid millions of dollars, yet say they support the team. What kind of backwards thinking is that?

This is false. Les cared about this program till the very end and still does. Not once did it appear that he just didn't care anymore... The game just passed up his philosophy

Man go eat a bag of dicks. I support LSU always. I have been going to games since 1981 and been a season ticket holder since 1992. I sat in Tiger Stadium through the darkest days of the Curly years. My support never wavers but I am also going to tell it like it is. I feel O was a bad hire. I do not feel he has the qualifications to be the head coach of a program at this level. If you feel different state these qualifications? Also quit selling this narrative of this being his dream job, that is complete bullshite. If that was the case he would have joined LSU when Miles tried to hire earlier. When he agreed to come and then let Kiffin drag him to Tennessee. I hope it works out for him. I like the guy I just don't think he can handle the job.

Agree with OP. We have a bunch of chicken little, crybaby fans. It's getting pretty stale.

Now, we have one loss. A bad one.

I look forward to this thread next year, and the year after that, and the year after that... just like we saw it last year and the year before that.

But hey... if we keep saying "Next year will be our year" then eventually it could happen.

I have a question for these "true fans".

How many of you stood by Les in his last three years? I doubt you supported the "team" when it wasn't your boy in charge, just a guess

Agreed.. the majority of LSU fans are spoiled, whiny, little girls who cry when they lose and want every coach gone after their 1st loss..a sugar bowl appearance, in any year, wouldn't be good enough for most on here..

And the other half are losers at life who are perfectly happy with their team losing as long as someone gets s "feel good" story out of it.
