Bama winning back to back championships and 3 in 4 years HURTS lsu

It already seems like most of our top recruits are LSU/BAMA battles, it's difficult enough with them picking Landon Collins out of LA last year. The last thing we need is for Bama to establish a dynasty.

All agree
Oh, so because we didn't get them we don't recruit and get as much talent as them?..........that makes sense

Not every recruit is created the same, and that includes if they are both "4 stars."
The point is, Bama winning gives them more clout to get a guy from us that could end up being a difference maker. That threat is greater than the benefit LSU receives from the SEC (through Bama) winning an NC.
Its really simple.

Doc, be real, did we really go after Bell and Lacy? Lacy was a grade risk that we backed off early in the process. I honestly thought Bell would be just like the receivers we already have. In the end we lost Collins, but I don't think his decision changes even if we won on 9 Jan. Winning in Bama didn't help.

Why are you okay with it being easier for Bama to recruit the same players we're going after? Please explain your position.

So bama winning another championship all of a sudden makes them more difficult to recruit against.
I swear, our fans are the dumbest fricking people on the face of the planet. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Generally speaking when SEC teams win non-conference games it is good for the SEC and LSU.
SEC teams winning BCS titles same thing especially if the titles don't go to one school. Having UF, LSU, AUB, TN and Bama all winning 1 or 2 in the BCS era is good for the SEC and LSU as one of the power teams.
However if any team other than LSU wins 3 in 5 years or something like that it could hurt us on the margin in recruiting not a lot but maybe miss on a kid or 2 that want to play for the best or "champs"
But again in general what is good for SEC is good for LSU.
SO most of the time if an SEC team is playing a nonconf opp I would rather the SEC win team but I would not considering it rooting or pulling for them I am not emotionally involved like I am for an LSU game.
All that said regardless of SEC or not this week I am an FSU fan and a GT fan because FL and UGA losing gives us a better chance of getting a BCS bid.
In short always "pull" for what is best for LSU.

Yes.
Will most of our fans forever be butthurt about Saban and have a life-long penis envy of the gumps? This board seems overly concerned about them rather than where we'll be playing. But hey, i'm just an LSU fan and not a gump hater.

Anything that sets the SEC apart from the other conferences aids LSU.
Why do you think we are now getting some of the very best players out of high school? Because they know if you want to compete for national titles you come to the SEC. That wasn't always been the case.
Get over your childish, jealous self and understand if it helps the SEC, it helps LSU.
The SEC has 5 teams in the BCS top 10 because great players want to go play in great conferences.

Alabama winning 3 championships in 4 years doesn't set the SEC apart from the other conferences. It sets Alabama apart from everyone else. They are our main competition each year both on the field and in recruiting.
Every time they win a title, they get constant media ball washing. The constant attention makes keeps them top of mind for every top prospect coming out of HS. This makes their recruiting job easier, and makes recruiting against them more difficult.
This is not a difficult concept to grasp. It amazes me that people that think they're LSU fans could possibly be so fine with circumstances that clearly hurt LSU.

It is really simple. They just won two in the last three years. Did that hurt us in recruiting? No,we're loaded, and it's always gonna be that way

We're always gonna get as much talent as they will, plain and simple, so in the end I care about what happens to us, not bama
