I think the friday after thanksgiving would be good. The arkansas game has never really done anything for me.

This would be fantastic. I hate playing Arkansas with the last game of the year because it's always Arky's superbowl. They always need the win to get into a decent bowl whereas it's nothing more than a scheduling formality for LSU.
If making ATM our rival would move Arky earlier in the season then it's a fantastic idea

I never said our game against Arkansas was a traditional rivalry. I'm referring to those we've been playing for decades.
I agree with what your saying about "The Boot" being a manufactured rivalry. It's the exact same thing the original poster is wanting to happen b/w us and A&M.

We ended the contract with them, not the other way around.

Ironically, Joe Dean used the '92 expansion of the SEC from 10 to 12 teams (and subsequent change from 7 to 8 conference games for LSU) as the reason for getting out of our contract with A&M.

i, for one, would like to see that happen. there is nothing special at all to me about the arky game that week. i think a&m vs lsu would be a winner and draw a lot more fan interest from both sides, not to mention many recruits. now, some on here are going to dispute the increased fan interest on both sides comment, but they are just wrong. there are a hell of a lot of lsu fans that would love this whether they post here or not. they can travel to college station every other year from dallas, houston, etc. it would also piss off the longhorns but that's just lagnappe.

The really funny part is where the two ADs disagreed was on the "Suitable replacement". We offered up USL and A&M tried to say they were unsuitable.

I do think we already have more of a rivalry with you guys than we do with the Pigs, just based on our history but I don't think Thanksgiving will work for us.

I for one would like the idea. Maybe it would get us away from playing Arkansas in Little Rock. The better T-Day game for the Aggies would be against Arkansas - two old SWC teams going at it. Just my 1 1/2 cents worth.
