I would be surprised if Payton doesn't end up starting over Reliford. Payton is projected as a first round pick next draft.

For your legend at the bottom, I believe walk-ons are the wrong color - you have it as BLUE when it should be pink

Great work, thanks for posting this

He is usually in position to make the play, he very rarely gets beat athletically, He just routinely didn’t make a play on the ball or was on the other end of a highlight reel catch. I really do think he turns into a lockdown db before he’s done at LSU.

Not a fan at all of Jardin Gilbert over AJ Haulcy. He had 5 INTs and 7 PD last year.

Not a fan of Zavion Thomas over Nic Anderson. Nic in his FRESHMAN YEAR put up 21.0 ypc, 800 yards, 10 TDs, and is 6'4" 200. That balances out our faster small WRs. Zavion never put up numbers close to Nic Anderson.

Not a fan of Patrick Payton at 2nd string. The dude literally has 30 TFL and 17 sacks in his career. I would bet a lot that our entire defense combined doesn't have 30 TFL and 17 sacks. Payton is mocked as the 1st round, 22nd pick when ESPN did a mock a month ago. Why? Why would Payton transfer here off 30 TFL and 17 sacks to be 2nd string? Just don't understand.

I also think Bernard Gooden is better than Breaux. Gooden is rated as the 25th best DT in the country on On3 player rankings. Breaux isn't in top 50.

While Whit Weeks is 1st round talent, West Weeks hasn't showed he can start opening game at Clemson. Keys has been better. I imagine Braker, Charles Ross is better.

Why is he putting these elite transfer that we paid a lot of money for in 2nd string roles? He has elite talent that could be 1st through 3rd round picks riding the pine.

Looking at the roster and projecting into the future, with the exception of DE and maybe WR the future looks very bright.BKs recruiting of the O and D line is right up there with the big boys and that’s the positions you need to compete for championships.Compare Nicks 1st 4 years to BKs are pretty close.NS lost 4 games his 5 year and would have dominated the SEC 2006 on.BK is building that kind of roster and those who underestimate his coaching won’t have much to say the next few years.

Predictions - Brown over Zavion - Pickett over Stamps - Haulcy over Gilbert

1000% on all

Nic Anderson (The #1 WR & #9 transfer ranking in FBS) over Brown or Thomas. Nic had 21.0 ypc and 800 yards, 10 TDs, in his Freshman year, only year to play. He's 6'4". 3x as many yards as Brown last year. You just don't start Brown or Thomas over that.

Brown will definitely get his in kickoff and punt return. He has 5 kickoff returned for TDs.

Agree with Pickett over stamps, or at least 3 CB passing downs bring in.

Agree with Haulcy over Gilbert.

West Weeks absolutely does not need to be starting at Clemson. Brother is 1st round pick, but unfortunately he is not. Keys is better. I imagine one of the Top 100 recruits Freshman LBs is better.

Gooden over Ahmad Breaux. Gooden was rated #4 DLman in the portal for a reason.

I am flabbergasted at Patrick Payton 2nd string. He has 30 TFLs and 17 sacks in career. That is probably more than the rest of our Defense combined.

Harlem Berry should be 2nd string over Kaleb Jackson

I'd like to see Curne based on tape sub in for Weston Davis and maybe start eventually.

Is this an LSU released chart or OP? If LSU released, then BK has to, I mean absolutely has to, stop favoring players who have been here a long time and seniority, and just play the best damn players.

He reshaped his body, going from a slender 170 pounds to a solid 190. He earned a 72 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus, collected 51 tackles (seven against Alabama), and broke up 14 passes—including three against Ole Miss. PFF ranked him among the top four cornerbacks in the SEC…. I mean all over just google the kid lol. 7 pass break ups against what many consider the best WR in college football (Ryan Williams) .

Still don’t get not bringing back Emery. He’d be the perfect complement to Durham.

But hey Jackson pushed down a DB really hard that one time..

This depth chart worries me if it is LSU issued if BK really has some of these elite transfers at 2nd string, and a lot of guys who have been at LSU a while and not produced at all as starters (Jardin Gilbert, West Weeks, Breaux over Gooden, Pyburn or Reliford over Patrick Payton who is #1 overall rated transfer)...

Stamps coverage grade was a 67.5 not sure where you are getting 72 from. I’m also not sure where they ranked him 4th in the SEC. Nor did break up 7 passes against Ryan Williams. Milroe only threw 6 incompletions against us all game.

After sifting through all of that, Stamps was a fairly average college corner. When you combine that with his limited athletic traits, it makes sense why fans would want Pickett to play over him. Stamps plays hard, but last year’s version of him was not good enough for us to be a championship level team. Will he improve enough to change that? Maybe, but it’s certainly fair to have doubts.

Brown smoked Stamps by two yards on the first TD of the day per Sconeman
