Common opponents are below

Vanderbilt 2019: 38 points allowed, 374 yards (145 rushing, 229 passing)
Vanderbilt 2020: 7 points allowed, 266 yards ( 153 rushing, 113 passing)

Florida 2019: 28 points, 457 yards (146 Rushing, 311 passing)
Florida 2020: 34 Points, 609 yards (135 Rushing, 474 passing)

Miss State 2019: 13 points, 340 yards (102 rushing, 238 passing)
Miss State 2020: 44 points, 632 yards (9 rushing, 623 passing)

Alabama 2019: 41 points, 541 yards (123 rushing, 418 passing)
Alabama 2020: 55 points, 650 yards ( 265 rushing, 385 passing)

Arkansas 2019: 20 points, 304 yards (114 rushing, 190 passing)
Arkansas 2020: 24 points, 443 yards ( 104 rushing, 339 passing)

Texas A&M 2019: 7 points, 169 yards (72 rushing, 97 passing)
Texas A&M 2020: 20 points, 267 yards ( 162 rushing, 105 passing)

I left off the Auburn game because it was an outlier and maybe the only inexcusable performance of the season.

The numbers aside from Miss State are incredibly similar and that was the first game of the season. New D/C playing against a new Miss State team with a Coach that throws 60 times a game. That is with the fact that we were missing 9 players off the defense that were signed by NFL teams and another 3 that decided to forego this season.

If anyone thinks Dave Aranda (or anyone) does any better given the circumstances of this season and the fact we have a depleted roster, you are kidding yourselves.

Despite what the clowns on this board believe, it would be an incredibly stupid move to buyout a 2 million/yr coordinator based on this season.

If there is no improvement next year, sure can him. But to do it this year, would be moronic.

What do you disagree with? Probably one of the Clowns that were calling for Aranda’s head after Vandy last year. Thankfully O and Woodward don’t listen to this board otherwise we would have a new staff every season.

And half the dumbfricks here want Wade fired

We rank 127th in pass defense. Dead last.
There is no other team that defends the pass worse than we do.

I’m not sure what else there is to say.

I'm just laughing at how fricking dumb you are to think that comparing how many yards and points we gave up to the same schools last year actually means anything. This is perhaps the worst defense in LSU history. There's no sugar coating it. Bo has to go.

What? frick no.

If we have Aranda, multiple players are in a scheme they’re familiar with/ fit better in and I’d think the defense would be a lot better as a result.

And Ika’s probably still on the team (though we probably don’t get Cox).

Also, got a good chuckle out of this. It is essentially impossible to NOT improve off of this year. So if we're, say, 100th instead of 117th in pass d next year, do we extend Bo?

Maybe im missing it, but the stats you posted above seems to prove the point of how much better aranda was than pelini. The points and yards posted above greatly favor aranda.

Not sure whats funny about UF?

We add another touchdown and win 44-34, its almost identical to last years game. They are improved, we have less than 53 scholarship players

Arkansas is almost identical as well. Difference is our offense last year scored 50.

He performed better against Vandy than Aranda and worse against State.

True clowns on this board

Can’t wait to see what Bo does next year with all these young guys getting experience.

Yards per play is a much better metric by which to gauge a defense than total points or total yards.

In 2019, we ranked 29th giving up 5 ypp.

This year we rank 127th (out of 130 teams) giving up 7 ypp.

Giving up 7 yards per play is historically bad.

Oh yes, never mind the fact Aranda had 12 NFL caliber players that are no longer on the team and Bo has freshman and Sophmores.

If you can’t see the difference between the 2019 D and 2020 D than I can’t help you.

We gave up over 600 yards and UF's best receiving threat didn't play.

We also rank 117th in pass efficiency defense, other than Vandy, no SEC team is worse.

We rank 92nd in scoring defense allowing 33pts per game. This includes playing Vandy with a true freshman QB which helps to pull down that number.

We are Ole Miss and Texas Tech level bad on passing defense which is insane considering we’ve had Stingley, Ricks, and Stevens in the secondary for the majority of games.
