What about them? can their defense stop an offense with a pulse?

We will not light up Alabama. Watch every game we play. Alabama is stifling offenses. The one advantage we have is that Alabama doesn't have a dominant pass rusher. We should have time. I will avoid your Ole Miss response bait.

If you think Florida's defense is elite, Bama's is right there. 17 points will not be enough to beat Alabama. They actually have an offense.

You can call it that if you'd like.

Like I said, the team was ready to play and played very well. But in terms of the few decisions Les actually has to make during the course of the football game, he bricked on a lot of them.

The fake field goal on 4th and long

Explain how this cost us the game? Or how it even hurt our chances in the slightest bit...

The FG would have been 47 yards when we faked it.

The other FG you are complaining about. This one:

Attempting the field goal to go up 6 instead of going for it

Would have been 45 yards...

So basically, you wanted us to kick the 47 yard field goal in the game because we faked it and didn't get anything out of it, but we should not have tried the 45 yard field goal late in the game because it was MISSED. And as a result, both are Miles' fault? I just want to make sure I get on the same page with you here.

Just like Clemson, UGA, and Ole Miss, the defense had a chance to stop the other team. They did not. We have the lead. Not Miles' fault. Chief has had a hard time closing out games. Gets too conservative and lets the other team march down the field.

If he keeps his "silly rabbit, tricks are for kids" out of the equation this year, we might.

The fake wasn't the play I was thinking of. It was attempting the 54-yard field goal right before half. I apologize.

It was 4th and long. Punt the ball, pin them deep, go into half down 7-3.

Not talking about the same thing here. I'm talking about the field goal Alleman missed right before Alabama took over and went down the field for the win. It was 4th and 4 I believe? Mettenberger was on fire in the 2nd half. I wanted the ball in his hands. If we don't get it, they still have to drive 45 yards in under 2 minutes to get in field goal range and tie the score (which they did do and more, but you can't judge it in hindsight).

ETA: I was thinking we faked the field goal on the 54-yarder. I forgot we were actually stupid enough to kick it there. My apology for the wrong information, but that is just another decision that I believe was colossally incorrect. Why not punt there?

So kind of like Saban with the WR pass in 2011?

Not the reason we lost last year. Defense failed us in the critical moment.

Yes we are. That is exactly what I am talking about.

The fake FG happened at the Bama 30. That would have been a 47 yard field goal. The late field goal that we missed (that you are saying we shouldn't have even tried was from 45 yards).

I see now that you are saying we should have punted instead of faking it which still doesn't explain how the call of faking the field goal lowered our chances of winning the game. You may not be remembering correctly, but after the fake field goal, Bama went 3 and out and punted the ball back to LSU. They did not do anything with the football after the fake.

Whoever has the ability to process information and apply critical thinking to situations in a split second. Lets try Moffit or Haley or Sam fricking Nadar for all I care.

So did Copeland 15 yard penalty near the goaline as well if you want to get technical.

I edited, which I don't like doing because it hangs you out to dry.

I was thinking of the 54-yard field goal attempt. Read my edit.

because apparently these high school kids are so damn good that they can just show up at LSU, never practice, never train, never attend team meetings, walk on the field on Saturdays and win over 80% of their games, 2 SEC championships and a national championship.

Wrong... we only won 80%, 2 SEC, 1 MNC because Les got in the way. If any other coach in the country were here, we'd have won >90%, >6 SEC, >4 MNC because LSU has the best players in the country and its a shame that Les has to ruin them

Ah, got it.

This I can agree with. Alleman sucked last year and had no business trying a 54 yard field goal. Miles trusted the defense to be able to prevent Alabama from doing any damage with 1:08 left in the half. That was a mistake, but still didn't cost us the game. What cost us the game was really going into softer defense the last series of the half and the last series of the game and then a freshman not hearing his fellow defensive players yelling at him to back out of the blitz due to the stadium being crazy loud. Also, a missed tackle on the very first play of the last drive of the game didn't help. Had a chance to tackle Norwood in the field of play, before reaching the first down marker
