LSU Bowl Question

Should we let baby gators loose on the field after we beat Arkansas to signify our desire to compete in the gator bowl? Similar to what is done for the rose and orange bowls. The baby gators should have their mouths taped shut of course.

No you should throw them from the upper west.

What the hell...leave their mouths untaped!...

If LSU beats A&M, they will move up a few spots most likely as A&M is #9 right now. If they can beat A&M and Arkansas, maybe the Cotton Bowl or Chick-Fil-A Bowl? I know a lot of people are unhappy because LSU isn't undefeated, but it's obvious this wasn't the Tigers' year. That defense is too young to help the team to a championship. After losing so many guys to the NFL last year, it was unrealistic to expect this unit to be on the same level as Alabama's defense. The offense has been markedly improved, but it just isn't their year. Hopefully next year they'll be improved enough on defense and Jennings can pick up right where Mett left off and we'll see what happens.

Sounds like it's between the chicken and the gator bowl. I like your positive spirit Saintly, and I agree with your prediction for next year.

Today, I heard a prediction of LSU vs Duke in the Chick Fil A.
We'd travel about 2000.
We'd travel about 2000.

We're gonna travel poorly to any bowl we attend, with the exception of the Cotton Bowl. It's about the best we can hope for right now. God help us if we end up in the Liberty or Music City Bowl. I doubt we'd sell more than 10K to either of those.

Win both = Cotton
Win one = Chik Fil A
Lose both = Indy

I think Cotton is out of reach. Bama/Auburn will get the BCS bowls. Then you have Mizzou and SC ahead of us as well. Hell LSU is 8th overall in the SEC currently.

I agree with the other poster.
We win both, we go to the Cotton.
I'd like to see that, personally.
Whatever happens between Bama and Auburn, I think I'm right saying this, one goes to the SEC CG, the other is the at large BCS bid.
The Gator and Outback tend to offer SEC East teams. It's not a given but it's usually the case.
The Cap. one is floating around in there too.
It's just my take but I think the winner of the SEC goes and the loser goes to the Cap. one. (I know it doesn't sound fair but the SEC East has been really weak this year. SC beat Mizzou so they'd go provided Mizzou loses one of their last two games, which is possible.
It's hard to tell right now. All I would like is for us to go to the Cotton. Play Texas and beat them. I'd be good with that.

Cotton Bowl is pretty much out of reach.
Really just not true.
aTm will be an underdog in their last two games. Missouri/South Carolina are likely going to take the Capital One/Outback spots.
Cotton Bowl usually takes a West team. If we have 3 losses and aTm has 4, it's pretty likely.

You're good with this stuff.... am I close on this?

Yeah, pretty spot on.
I really just hope we get to Dallas or Tampa, just because I've been to Atlanta so many times throughout the years and the opponent wouldn't be very good.
We've been to Dallas a lot lately, but when you consider a matchup that would probably be the best of all the non-BCS games (either Texas, Oklahoma State, or Baylor), it would be a pretty big deal. Plus, the stadium is great and I like the town.
As for Tampa, I've never been. Plus, it would probably be against Nebraska or Michigan or someone else we'd kick the crap out of. LSU/Michigan would obviously be very intriguing.

Tampa's cool.
The stadium isn't far from the airport. I lived over there for a long time.
I'd still like to see us go to the Cotton. I just don't like Texas.

Maybe, but unlike last year, we'd be deserving of the chick fil a this year.

Cotton vs Texas would be great at this point.
