I do not think that Florida's offense will be as good this year.

Your spring practices have been a train wreck in slow motion. Come back and talk when your o-line gels, and you find a WR that can actually catch the ball.

I can't figure out what you are talking about. UF's spring practices were very productive and uncovered a number of surprise performers. You haven't heard of many of those players yet, but you will when they are burning you.

As for the offensive line, it will be one of the strongest UF has ever had. We had young center step up and play lights out all spring. He'll allow the Pounceys to both play guard. At tackle we are solid.

UF has never had trouble finding receivers and this year will be no different. By the end of the season you will either respect or know the names Thompson and Hammond. Both of them were good enough to challenge and many times beat our first-team secondary during the spring.

Lol, you crack me up.

The entire first-team defense got the day off, which might have benefited Brantley the most. Instead of going against the first unit, he faced second- and third-teamers.

ESPN

So those WR's you're bragging about, they really are completely untested. As are the lineman.

You had a slew of injuries this spring. This is why a Gator fan bragging on his offense is like a farmer holding an egg out and saying "See this? This is gonna be one fine chicken!"

Meyer isn't stupid. He'll mix up the pro-style with spread plays. And if pro-style offense doesn't work, he'll ditch it for the spread.

Meyer cares about winning, not about Tebow's NFL career. He's a pure businessman.

That's one way of looking at it.

Another way is that Florida had problems moving the ball against Bama without Harvin in the SEC championship game. Murphey made a couple of big plays but he's gone as well.

Florida's offense isn't going to be as explosive IMO.

LSU has questions that need to be answered. No doubt about it. However, if our defensive coaching staff turns out to be solid (as expected) and Jefferson takes a step forward (as expected) Florida is going to have its hands full.

Predicting a 30+ win is pretty ridiculous. If those things I mentioned above happen, the line will be between 3 and 7 points.

I wish more people would understand this. Chances are he will use the same offense as usual when needed. Tebow will probably take more snaps from under center this year, yeah, but they will be against cupcake teams. Just because he says he's going to do it more doesn't mean he will sit there and say "shite...we're down 4 points against LSU but I still owe Timmy 4 more snaps under center....what to do".

Just like it would have been last year, right?

The problem with many Tiger fans this year is they are living in the past, off the glory and quality of their 2003 through 2007 teams. That's gone, at least until your team matures again and fields a quarterback who has put in his time in the SEC.

You are simply in denial, and the only thing that will pull you out of it is a 9-4 season, a couple more lopsided losses where your team surrenders 40+ points, and a humiliation in your own stadium at the hands of UF, just like old times.

I'll be here to see your revised analysis in October, believe me.

You are a funny guy.

If LSU is not as talented as in 2007, it's DAMN close. And the thought that LSU is going to be intimidated by Florida is also pretty damn funny.

Last year LSU had severe problems with it's defensive coaching staff. The fact that you do not realize that says a lot about your knowledge of the situation.

Now, if your point is that LSU hasn't done a good job at addressing that situation, your opinion would at least make sense...although it's way too early to know that and the info that has been leaking out of the program is counter to that.

I'll put it this way. You are predicting a 30+ pt win. I'm willing to put up $500 and offer you 2 to 1 on that line if you want it.

It won't be very funny when your green quarterback is being chased all over the backfield by Carlos Dunlap, Jermaine Cunningham, and Brandon Spikes because his receivers are blanketed and he doesn't know what to do with the ball. No, funny will turn to dread when you look up at the scoreboard and your Tigers will be down by 21 right before halftime, and then the horror will set in when you realize the Gators might make it to 50.

Ugliness. Do yourself a favor and prepare for it.

There's only a contradiction if you can somehow make the case that 'old times' must only equate to the years 2003 - 2007. Unfortunately for you, 'old times' incorporates the many years when Spurrier beat you like dogs.

You're probably not an LSU grad, I take it?

I offered you 2 to 1 at a line of 30. Say the word...or I'll just assume you are flaming and don't really believe that Florida is as good as you think they are.

I haven't read this whole thread and don't think Meyer is dumb enough to actually risk his season to get Tebow drafted higher. However, it is in his best interest for Tebow to get drafted high and succeed in the NFL. So, I think it's smart for Meyer(and Florida) long-term to at least get Tebow some pro-style reps.

By the way, I do think Florida is going to be good, but I think us and the other 11 teams they are scheduled to play should at least bother showing up. Contrary though to what some of you apparently feel.
